why can they not co-exist? Arenas did well with Larry Hughes, another player deemed to need the ball a lot.

according to nba draft measurement, they are not the same height, wade is 6'3.75 barefooted while arenas is 6'2.25, but I still think arenas would work, he has a huge wingspan and very athletic, he won't be any worse than carter defensively this past season

Funny thing is we could of had Gilbert Arenas in the Draft 2001 he was still on the board when it was our turn to pick.....but hindsight 20/20.....We took Omar Cook by the way....that worked out lol

Who plays basketball barefoot? Anyways having met both players at one point(didn't know that Arenas has a house in Orlando) as far as i remember Wade is just a tad taller but it doesn't matter really....Statistically Carter wasn't bad defensively in fact if the stats are correct then he was one of the best man to man defenders in the NBA

Ok, I have heard rumors so far about Andre Iguodala or Gilbert Arenas coming to Orlando. So tell me what you think of this trade.

Orlando gets Andre Iguodala (76ers) and Elton Brand (76ers)
Orlando gets a quality shooting guard and a quality power forward. Orlando can pick up their draft pick Stanley Robinson to replace Pietrus at small forward. Orlando would only need to get the 3rd Point Guard and it would be set with 13. P.S. - I would really like to add A. Blatche (Was) to the team, but I don't see Washington letting him go that easily. With this lineup, the only signings Orlando would have to do next year is resigning Ryan Anderson and maybe their 3rd string point guard if their 3rd string point guard only signs a 1 year contract for this year.

Washington gets Vince Carter (Orl) and Jason Kapono (76ers)
Washington gets two expiring contracts as well as shooters to complement John Wall. Not to mention get Gilbert Arenas out of Washington and his contract. Washington would need to get 2 more players to complete its roster, but it would be set up with almost a whole team of expiring contracts as this year was for several teams. Orlando can give future draft picks to ease the uncertainty of doing this trade.

Philadelphia gets Gilbert Arenas (Was), Marcin Gortat (Orl), and M. Pietrus (Orl)
Philadelphia gets a point guard / shooting guard to match with Evan Turner, a starting center, and a small forward who is better defensively than Jason Kapono and still shoots well from behind the arc. Philadelphia would be set with its roster as well. Philadelphia gives away two quality players, but they get rid of Elton Brand's contract which is equivalent to Rashard’s Bad contract. Orlando can give future draft picks to ease the uncertainty of doing this trade.

Orlando's Lineup After this trade:

Traditional Offense

PG - J. Nelson / C. Duhon / 3rd String (Hopefully, 6+ ft Combo Guard)
SG - A. Iguodala / J.J. Redick / Q. Richardson
SF - R. Lewis / Q. Richardson / S. Robinson
PF - Elton Brand / B. Bass / Ryan Anderson
C - D. Howard / Elton Brand / D. Orton

4 out, 1 in Offense

PG - J. Nelson / C. Duhon / 3rd String (Hopefully, 6+ ft Combo Guard)
SG - A. Iguodala / J.J. Redick / Q. Richardson
SF - Q. Richardson / A. Iguodala / S. Robinson
PF - R. Lewis / Ryan Anderson / B. Bass
C - D. Howard / Elton Brand / D. Orton

There would be so many possibilities with this roster that it would create matchup nightmares because the backup players could be starters on several other teams. D. Orton and S. Robinson would have time to develop behind these other players, plus get quality minutes because so many of these games would be decided early enough to get the backup players in the game. This team would give the Heat, Lakers, and Celtics fits because there would not be a let up of talent coming on the floor. Plus, Orlando would be a quality championship contender for several years with this lineup.

Please, Feel free to tell me what you think of this idea.

Philly won't trade Brand's contract to get Arenas's back. We could just send Carter and Gortat or Pietrus to Philly for Igoudala and Brand,. We don't need Washington involved. But I think they're going to hold onto Igoudala for the time being to see how he, Holiday and Turner play together.

We need to keep still and see how the first part season plays, then we make trades at the deadline if there's problems...

inmate, that's a good handle because you belong in Jail robbing GM's like that.

What a 2K10 trade, I love it! Sick, sick lineup that can't happen.

If we get Arenas, he needs to drop the number 0. I hate that crap. No, you wouldn't drop 80 on duke, no, you couldn't drop 60 on Portland the year you made that claim and scored like 20 points combined in your two meetings, and no, you can't pull a gun out in our locker room because Dwight would grab the gun, smash it in his hand, and bludgeon you to death with your own weapon.

Please Otis, don't get this clown.

Bucs80 wrote:I would want Arenas at the PG position.... It would beneficial to him, and it is his natural position. I think at this point, and I really hate to say it. If this trade goes down. We would have to Trade Jameer.

I am not on the nelson bandwagon like everyone else. The guy has mad street ball skills and can get hot QUICK. And lets not forget he even throws a lob to D-12 every couple of games for a highlight dunk.
And once or twice a season he will hit a game winner. Thats what you get with dude, thats freakin it !
We need someone who makes everyone better. Someone with court vision that can see over a defense.
I know Jameer can dribble and hit clutch shots on occasion, but we need someone who can shove the ball down the throat of the defense.

I just don't see this deal happening. If it does then Otis must really feel pressured to make a big move just to look busy/counteractive.

I become slightly more intrigued with the idea of a future first being included from wash though... Gortat + future first could actually land us something really good...

Still, I wouldn't do that. I'd wait til the season starts to see how eerything is panning out.
