That is radness. You gotta look at guys like Vince Carter or even Earl Clark, who's biggest weakness is hating contact. Lawal loves it. When you watch him, he wants and likes to bang against guys. He's got the skills to be above average, but it's the mentality and the work ethic that are gonna be what makes him different

Love what i'm seeing from him but lets not forget that Lou had better scoring numbers his junior year then Gani did. Once he becomes more coordinated offensively i think his ceiling is much higher than Lou's. I hope he gets PT if he can effectively rebound right away but i'm expecting big things from him in year 2 like our other draftees have shown.

I'd be glad if he could be close to Blair's level of play.

I was able to see Derrick Caracter play a few times in college. He was a fan favorite at UTEP, and i thought he would be a great fit for my Suns at the spot we were picking at. Several mock NBA drafts only confirmed my belief that we could land him at 46.

When the Suns chose Lawal, i was disappointed. When the Lakers took Caracter at 58, i felt sick, because all of my best friends are Lakers fans. Now I get to watch our UTEP guy play for my most hated team, while watching my buddy's root him on to a possible championship in his first season.

After the draft, looking at all the YouTube clips and reading articles about Gani Lawal, I'm really excited we got this guy. I'll be following both these guy's careers from now on. I think we may have got a steal with this kid at 46.

Many players seem to have improved their jump shooting and free throw shooting in PHX. If Lawal can improve in those areas, he'll be very valuable to the Suns for years to come.

While we are on the topic of draft picks, what happens to Dwayne Collins if he is not signed? Do we still have his rights?

If Collins goes to play in Europe or somewhere, and decides to return to the NBA in the future, would we have his rights? I dont know how this works.

Interesting video on Lawal and some brain project he was apart of.

I wanted us to move up in the draft to get him to be honest. Then I decided that would never happen. Then we got him anyways. Stoked I am. Hopefully he either gets playing time or sent to the D-league to get some playing time there.
