Keeping an eye on Ex-Warriors

Know there's a lot of us who really liked AR (not just as a player but as a person) and I thought it might be interesting to keep an eye on him this season (in of all places, the big apple) just how to see he does. I'm planning on it. Here's an article from the sporting news to get things started in which we see how D'Antoni may be intending to use him. Some interesting comments. I'll also probably be keeping tabs on the Knicks board as well (one of their posters already claims that Walsh said he's untouchable).

I liked D'Antoni's concept of letting AR naturally create his own position. When a guy has that unique a skillset it's foolish and unproductive to pigeonhole him into a typical role. This should be interesting to follow... Someone with authority should sticky this thread!

i have bets on AR having a breakout season in NY. players always do better on another team after leaving the warriors

Agree. Untouchable? lol

I bet Al Harrington was untouchable when he was first aquired...by the Warriors AND New York

Hook, line, and sinker.

AR is gonna be an 18 time all star and he'll easily put up 30 ppg in D'Antoni's free flowing offense which is a stark contrast to our rigid JVG style offense under Nelson. And since he's apparently an elite defender according to this board I expect him to make 1st team all defense.

He let Duhon and Al Harrington make countless mistakes out there. Nate was in the doghouse because he is much louder and dumber than most of our roster. I think he had an agenda there. D'Antoni will give a pretty long leash to AR.

Usually when a player leaves town, you don't want him to turn out like you were hoping when he was here. It hurts more when they leave and dominate (Arenas). However with Randolph, I hope he becomes an absolute monster like I was expecting him to be in the future for NY, just to stick it up Nellies ass and shut the Nellie apologists up. :evil:

AR as Odom? :lol:

AR might end up being quite good, but dude wouldn't know what this "passing" concept was if it hit him in the face. The Odom comparison does make sense when you count inconsistency into the equation. AR is either on fire or invisible. I hope he doesn't get a fat contract once his rookie deal expires...that would screw the Knicks.

Looking forward to AR updates after every game from select groups... All the games AR does well statistically in that the Knicks lose, we'll hear about how great he was / how little actual impact he had... all the ones he sucks in but the Knicks lose, we'll hear about how great our move was / how AR improves winning...

Predictable threads are fun... here's hoping that AR puts up a bunch of empty #s just so there is whining in this thread.

Apologist by default... I'm a realist, but unfortunately, no one is so overboard pro-Nellie that they need to be checked... but we have a ton of mental cases here who think they are 20x smarter than a HoF head coach because they wanted to play a IQ-less, athletic stick figure 30+ a game and just hope he figures out team basketball sometime along the way...

I miss GSWhoopFan... he was the only extremely pro-Nellie guy that took it to ridiculous heights... hester's not nearly as irrational as the people who see every FO move as bad if it doesnt cater to young, raw players.

Oh boy Baron is such a trainwreck. I still have a magazine clipping from when Simmons hung out with him on trade deadline day and baron was praying for a trade...in year one. At the end of the season he said he was gonna turn it on and make the Clipps a playoff team in year 2......

......and now year 3 begins.
