Post#1 » by wadero » Tue Jul 20, 2010 5:35 pm

Mephis has basicly pissed him off so BAD he doesnt want to play for them? Anyway would it be wise to try to get his rights away from Mephis??

6'6 2 guard from Kansas went 2 spots ahead of Patterson.
Mephis owner doesnt want off the full rookie slot for him. Here are his STATs at Kansas.

But for whom? He is supposed to be a very good wing defender, no?

he's not signed yet
so we can trade future pick for him
problem is there's no spot on the roster for him without us moving someone

i know understand memphis owner
he overpaid rudy gay and now he wont pay his rookie the right price
yes you can sign the rookies 80-120% of the rookie salary scale
usually people give them 120%
but memphis want him to earn the other 20% from bonus

I definitely wouldn't mind giving up a Knicks pick for him. After all, people were screaming for a defensive SG. Maybe we let go of Andersen, seeing as we have Miller and Patterson now.

I actually don't think that's a bad deal at all. I think Thabeet would make a much better back up 5 than Hill. As much as i love Chase's game, its not that hard to come across a shooting 2 guard. Heck, we already have 2 of them in JT and Martin. I guess we could exchange a little offense for defense.

Or turn that into a three way with the Pacers if possible where we end up with Granger or both Henry and Granger. Team defense would be amazing if Henry is as good as a perimeter defender as he is believed to be. Having a rotation of Battier, Granger, and Henry would be very sweet. Morey get it done!

Where did all this Grangerness come from? Were we actually discussing a deal at some point, or was he on the block or something?

Again why? This is, on it's best day, a lateral move. I don't really like Hill but Thabeet hasn't proven anything either. Xavier hasn't even played in anything on this level. To trade Bud for him?

This draft class was actually pretty crappy. Which has been the case the past couple of years. I don't know who this year's Tyreke evans is, but I doubt it's Henry. Better the devil you know, and I'm keeping Bud over "potential." Or in this case, "hope."

Wrong. Thabeet has proved absolutely NOTHING.

This guy is a younger, slightly faster version of Brandon Rush. He was suppose to be the second best freshman in his class, he's nowhere close. For a 6.6 wing, his lift is so so, his lateral movement is okay and he can sprint okay. He is however, not very good at handling the ball, or at least did not drive often when he was at KU. His role in offense was relegated to spot up shooing. So none of the pretty moves that CDR would do.

Still, he has an NBA body and shooting mechanics that you just can't teach.

Thabeet > Hill
Budinger >= Henry
Big > Small

Thabeet is an elite shotblocker that was plagued with foul trouble which will be remedied with experience
