Should we get mentors for our young team?
I know everybody wants to keep the team young, but to develop these young guys, we need some veteran presence. For example, Vince wouldn't have become the level of superstar he was (and yes, he was a superstar in his prime) if he didn't have guidance from guys such as Muggsy, Willis, AD, and esp. Oak.
Is there anybody out there to fill that role(s) for our group of young guys?

We don't need anymore players... unless we're trading. I think we have a full roster

All young, rebuilding teams need solid veterans whose pasts proves their calm under pressure. Just look at OKC during the playoffs. They did great, but often times some young gun would try some heroics to the detriment of their team (ala Westbrook... although he did play great, unwise shot selection).

We definitely need a big man coach considering the amount of pf/c we have on the team. We are still lacking a player who can post up consistently. Bargs is still the same. Where's Kareem?

No mentors required, the concept is a little overrat5e imo. Besides, we got Jay Triano to do that.

young is good young is amazing. with young for the future a team is able to win championship. when a team has all young players they all almost play they same way. when young players play together on a team they become better as a team and in the future they will be unstopable

I think the right mix of leadership and experience is important to any team. Jack for Parker and filler? BC has stated in the past that Parker’s leadership was missed on this team, and Cleveland has apparently been targeting Sessions but maybe they’d take Jack instead.

I wouldn't do Jack for AP, but in most other scenarios I would be behind it 100%. Parker may be older, but I do think he could really help Sonny and Demar, among others.

It's a good idea, but at the sametime you need to let these players develop on their own as well. I think I would give them one year together and see what happens there.

Agreed. I think until you have a team full of great young talent and not only average talent, there's no need to add veterans who are there to help you win. Older players would just take away minutes from these guys and lower our lottery pick. We're not making the playoffs, so why not let the young guys play and learn on the job. You can't learn everything in practice. The more minutes the better.

The downside to not having a veteran presence is that you don't have a peer to hold them accountable. If it's always the coaches that have to scream and shout at them, they can eventually get tuned out. We've already seen teams with just young talent fall apart (think Bulls and Clipps of the early 2000's). Ask KG how much Sam Mitchell helped him mature.

Definately, we have Alvin already for our guards, but we could use someone for the big men. Like Alvin, we don't necessarily need someone in the game to help them out, but someone on the bench could help.
