Do you guys recall Magics 25 YEARS contract he signed for 25 million dollars?

I saw it on ESPN last night.

That is when money was not out of the world and players could give back some money to help the team sign other players.

Yep, it was a huge deal at the time. Luckily Buss is a good man and let him renegotiate it.

Its crazy to think he signed for a mil a year, but that was in 81 nobody ever knew that the NBA was going to grow to where it is today.

Whats crazy is the length of the contract. 25 years.No player has ever played 25 years in the league.

I wonder if he ever renegotiated his contract later in his career??

I am sure it was a front loaded contract full of bonuses.

from what i remember it was 25 years with 1 mil per year straight up. basically deferred payment for his playing years.
