I call BS on that story. If he wnated to go to a contender, he would have never been so close to going to Toronto. He didn't stop that signing, the org's cap situation stopped it. Now suddenly he has a change of heart? I don't think so.

I don't know, it kind of makes sense. He was going to get 3 times as much from Toronto as he can from any contender. It would have more than doubled his career income, he would have been (Please Use More Appropriate Word) not to take it. But if Toronto's out of the picture and he can't get the money he wants, then better to be paid peanuts by a contender than be paid peanuts by a lottery team.

I know but that doesn't mean he's willing to sacrifice money for a ring, it just means nobody will pay him much money. Ring Chasers sacrifice money for the ring. He's not doing that.
