I really need to see the order of the transactions before I am convinced that MIN really got a TPE in the Al Jefferson trade, despite what all the reports say.

Pekovic scored 39 points today in a national team 84-71 win over Bosnia. Nearly half of his teams points.

More comparable to a preseason game, no?

same difference

- this was tranning and not real competition game
- Bosnia doesn’t have any center that could guard Pekovic
- coach Vujosevic (Montenegro) is the same coach formerly in Partizan Belgrade. Under him Pekovic usually is the main focus on offense (Vujosevic style is usually based on strong post presense).

Pekovic update: Kahn said he's waiting on 6-11 center-forward Nikola Pekovic to complete a physical before finalizing a contract with the native of Serbia-Montenegro. Kahn said an agreement could be reached next week.

Pekovic, a second-round pick of the Wolves in 2008, is eligible to join the Wolves this season after completing his obligations with Panathinaikos Athens in the Euroleague.

Pekovic, 24, is ranked seventh by Draft Express among the top 30 foreign players whose rights are held by NBA teams. He averaged 12.9 points and 3.8 rebounds and shot 72.5 percent from the floor last season with Panathinaikos Athens

He signed;
http://www.sportando.net/eng/usa/nba/11 ... olves.html

Nikola Pekovic has signed a three year deal with Minnesota Timberwolves. The center from Montenegro spent the last two years in Greece with Panathinaikos averaging 14.3ppg and 3.8rpg in the Euroleague 2009/10 and 12.2ppg and 3.7rpg in Greek league.

Pekovic has been drafted by Wolves in 2008, as the first pick in the second round (31). His contract of 12.960.000 USD and guaranteed bonuses of 550.000 USD, with total value of 13.510.000 USD is the biggest first NBA contract for any European player, drafted in the second year, in the history of NBA. Comparing with the first round picks, coming out of USA, Pekovic s contract is the second largest in history, and only Bargnani managed to get slightly bigger contract. Italian player was drafted number 1 and total value of his 3 years contract was 14.511.520 USD, comparing with Pekovic s 14.010.000 USD (the team had to pay 500.000 USD transfer-buy out fee), what makes the difference of 3,5 percents. Pekovic will join Wolves after the end of qualification for European championship with national team of Montenegro, and travel to USA, around 18th of September

This must be written by a guy who's amazed by the numbers, but has no understanding that NBA rookies are on a rookie scale.
