The New Orleans Hornets have sent out a Press Release:

New Orleans will be sending local favourite Darren Collison, along with Julian Wright, to the LA Clippers, in return for Eric Gordon.

It is a sad day to see Darren leave, he filled the boots of Chris Paul admirably last season, and has huge upside, however we are committed to building a team around Chris Paul, and bringing in a long-term partner in Eric Gordon gives Chris great scoring help in the backcourt. We are excited to see what they can achieve together.

Salary details as follows:

Eric Gordon $3,016,680

The deal works as LAC are $11m under the salary cap.

The Los Angeles Clippers agree. We love Collison as a Point Guard and believe he could be the face of the franchise within a year. I don't think Eric Gordon will be able to improve vastly from where he is in his career right now. I also dislike his size.

I just want to get rid of my bad contracts. If this deal gets veto'd, so be it. I thought I raped Houston, personally. I took 80% of their starting line-up and their lottery pick this year and unloaded ALL of my bad contracts on them. I didn't know Yao was viewed as such a negative in this game. I figured any team in the game would love to have him.

Why for New Orelans?

Simply put, we feel Tyson's injury woes are behind him, and with his best days being alongside Chris Paul, we are hopeful he can return to that form. It balances the roster out nicely for the coming season. We wish Quincy well for the future.

The Mavericks accept this deal because we don't really have that much faith in the abilities of Tyson Chandler. Here we pick up a nice prospect in Quincy Pondexter and get the DUST chip back for potential further usage. Also, this deal means we essentially traded Najera and Carroll for Pondexter and Ajinca which I'm sure people will agree is a nice bit of business. We are pleased that Tyson is going back to Nawlins and wish him the best for the future.

Why for us? Honestly I'm still mulling this one over in my head, but both players have a big risk associated with them. I know most are down on Oden, but his production while he actually plays is elite, and if he can play a full season without fouling too much he'll immediately be one of the best centers in the league, and having an elite defensive anchor is never a bad thing.

Spurs accept, while seconding the "big risk" - Oden could stay hurt, Cousins could flame out. But at the end of the day Cousins' three additional years on a rookie contract make the difference for me.

I believe San Antonio should also get a TPE equal to the difference in salaries, roughly $3.4M.

Big problem with Oden his his health concerns. There is a reason guys like him, Yao, and others don't end up helping you much in the eyes of other GMs come ranking time. You will see this trend the more games you play. Same thing goes for guys with huge contracts and questionable worth.

New York does this because we need a defensive prensence in the paint, that can block and rebound, and we get that with Camby. Although we lose Bryant, we get Roy, a younger version of Bryant (not as good). This makes our team more balanced.

Portland accepts...We're glad to be able to acquire somebody of Bryant's talent level to bring to play next to Duncan...I would've preferred to stay young but i couldn't pass up the chance to pair up these two on the same team....Miami watch out lol
