Chris Paul wants out, Lakers one of preferred destinations

Post#1 » by mvpmims2003 » Thu Jul 22, 2010 12:56 am

Hello All,

I haven't posted on here in a while but thought I'd share this since I haven't seen it posted yet. CP3 supposedly wants out of N.O. and LA is one of his preferred destinations. I'd give up Bynum and Sasha for him. Any thoughts? Link Below:

I dont think Paul will be moved for at least another year but if he is moved earlier than that I would think the Magic have the best shot at him.

I'll trade Odom, Bynum, and Sasha (only an asset cause his expiring), and a first round pick for this guy.

Odom, Bynum, Sasha, and 2 1st's for Paul and Stojakovic. Get it done Mitch!

Kinda hard to field 3 PGs on one team. granted Paul is all star caliber but Lakers just resigned Fisher and Blake.

I can see moving Sasha and moving Fisher to back up @ SG, with the lakers not having to resign Brown @ that point, but dunno how Fisher would do against the bigger SGs.

lol those 2 late 1st round picks will surely sweeten the deal. not sure why the hornets would want okafor and bynum on the same. highway robbery again for you guys.

They'd want Bynum and Okafor on the same team because Okafor's potential is about as undersized as he is and Bynum's injury prone.

If that trade went through, I would swing Stojakovic and his huge expiring contract in a trade for a PF. Let me look who is out there and what makes sense. But as far as the backup PF, I re-sign Powell and move Gasol to center.

^agreed. also, i think we'd have to take back okafor in any paul deal. i'd do bynum, odom and filler for okafor and paul anyday! i think okafor could be good next to pau.

As unlikely as it is but if the Lakers can get Paul it probably won't happen until the deadline because their gonna want a PG back and Blake is unmovable until December. Here my trade scenario
Lakers trade Bynum, Odom, Blake to the Hornets for Paul and Okafor.
New Lakers Roster
PG. Paul, Fisher
SG. Kobe, Sasha
SF. Artest, Walton, Ebanks
PF. Pau, Caracter
C. Okafor
Obviously there pieces missing because the Brown situation isn't resolved also the Lakers haven't brought a backup PF/C yet. But this would be about how the Lakers would look.

Glancing over Elton Brand seems like a great fit. I'd trade Stojakovic and whatever else they want for Brand and let him resurrect his career on a Championship team. It's a gamble I'd take. High-risk (contract/low-performance), but high-reward (skill level).

Are you serious? WHO CARES. It's Chris Paul. We're only talking about one of the Top 10 players in the league. Do you know how devastating we'd be with CP3 at the controls? And he's only 25. Some of you guys on this forum make me smh sometimes with the wild things you say.

A Paul trade to anywhere will at earliest happen at the deadline if his list doesn't expand and he sticks to the Lakers, Knicks and Magic as his preferred destinations. The Knicks have just signed or traded for almost everyone on their roster all most no one can be moved and i would think they would want to see how their team looks on the court. The Lakers won't happen immediately because I would think the Hornets would want a PG in return and Blake can't be traded until after the season starts. The Magic is the only team that can trade for Paul right now a combination of Nelson, Bass, Pietrus and picks should be enough for the Hornets. SO if Paul goes anywhere in the summer it would be the Magic.

With the emmergence of Darren Collinson, a PG in return is probably the least of their worries. I honestly think that Lakers package would be the best they can possibly get back--if the Lakers were willing to give up Odom and Bynum together.

Nope......that won't work the money doesn't match, only the Lakers can meet the criteria.
