This was not needed.

That's true. He just said he wouldn't want to go to a team with greats already but than now went to the Lakers with Kareem. Wow Magic

I dont see anything to be considered garbage..... He said he went only to play with Kareem and the lakers... pretty much the same thing lebron did now, Magic didnt wanted to go to the bulls, and with reasons, he wanted to go WIN... i honestly dont see the big deal, at least in this article.

i dont see the issue with the thread. Magic Johnson obviously contradicts himself. He is quoted as saying he would not of played with the bulls if they won the toss and only would of played with the lakers since they had HOFs on the team already.

No one remembers this cause winning cures all. People forget Kobe demanded to be traded to dallas to play with Dirk. The trade didnt go through cause LA demanded dirk in a trade and kobe would not of went there unless dirk was on the team.

I remember(cause i lived in boston at the time) that larry bird(when his back was bad) tried to recruit jordan to play with him when he was a FA. He even stated he would play for a dollar if they could get jordan to boston.

And of course Barkley is full of garbage. He said he wouldnt of done what lebron did at 25 but he pouted and demanded a trade out of Philly to a contender at the ripe old age of 28.

Magic Johnson, pulled a Lebron before Lebron was even born!

It was Shaq who wanted to go to Dallas, not Kobe..The Lakers didn't agree to it because Dirk was not involved...Kobe did demand a trade though, when the Lakers had agreed to an offer from the Detroit Pistons, it was Kobe who backed out.

THere is no reason to lock this thread. We need this to show all visiting trolls that Magic is a lying hypocrite.

Like the poster earlier said, winning makes all people forget.

Look man, while Magic, Jordan, and Barkley are basketball legends, between them, they've cheated on their wives, have massive gambling issues, substance abuse issues, and God knows what else. Sure, from a basketball perspective, what they say has impact. But personally, I could care less what these kind of low-character people have to say about ANYTHING.

This certainly does have the potential to be a lightening rod for trolls, but we'll let is play (for now).

I'd suggest maybe editing the OP to include Magic's recent comments about Lebron to show the contradiction.

I saw a post of Magics, Larry Birds, and jordons championship teams compared to our rosters. Their teams were stacked with allstars and hall of fame talent. A coincidence they won ? No not really. And no ring Barkley needs to remain quiet after he changed teams a few times.

Edit it like this----

Magic Then: "I wouldn't have played here," Johnson said on the eve of Game 2 of the NBA finals between his team and the team that could have been his (Chicago Bulls). "The only reason I came out was to play with Kareem and the Lakers."
1991- http://articles.latimes.com/1991-06-05/sports/sp-83_1

Magic Now: "We didn't think about it 'cause that's not what we were about," Johnson said at Baruch College in New York, according to Bloomberg News. "From college, I was trying to figure out how to beat Larry Bird."

Yep but its a waste of time trying to argue over on the gb. Its like arguing about which superhero is stronger with a bunch of 7 year olds. Just a fruitless effort that will only lead to frustration. I've known sheep that could outwit 90% of the posters there. They make knicks fans look borderline coherant. and thats a compliment to knicks fans

Man, Magic's just another hypocrite. Good find!

Now someone just needs to make a "Lebron hater" sig with Magic, Jordan, and Barkley. It's like a hater trinity!

There's a difference between asking Jordan if he would of left the Bulls where he had a great #2 and a great coach or Magic to leave Kareem, Worthy, or Bird leaving the Chief and McHale and LeBron leaving Mo Williams and Jamison in Cleveland.

Of course Magic, Bird, and Jordan wouldn't of left their team. They had great competent players and coaches around them. They weren't in freaking Cleveland either.
