OT: Movie Remakes

Post#1 » by College Boy » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:26 am

Today's cinema appears to be centering around remakes and comic book/cartoon adaptations. What movie has yet to be made that you would like to see, and who would star in it?

My vote is for a Robo Cop remake, and Jason Statham would be my candidate for this role. I know I know he's English and somewhat of a bad actor. But the good thing is, you don't have to be a good actor to play a robot. Plus, he's already bald so I guess that makes for more authenticity.

sopranos movie would be sick

a video game based movie, Command & Conquer, the newer ones. they made their last game of the series, but daam it is one gangster ass mofo'ing game. it'll be expensive no doubt, at least 100mil budget, should be more tho. would make for an all time great action movie, be even better if they make it a movie series

Another Batman movie with the Johnny Depp playing the Riddler. The Director needs to clean the sand out of his vagina and get over the Heath Ledger thing.

The new addition to the 28 series is being done so that is sweet.

Robocop is also great idea but not sure about Jason playing him.

There is also need to be a new Vampire movie because that Twilight BS gives bad name to vampire movies.

There is also talks about new Mortal Kombat movie but in a different style.

Would it be possible to do a new Dirty Harry?

S**t they need to make a Green Lantern movie.

Eh... I'm not married to the idea. It could easily be someone else. He's just my favorite white action actor right now.

Did you see the youtube promo for this yet?

That thing is CRAZY!!! If a studio doesn't pick that up, they're all going to hell. Or at least they should.

Oh that would be amazing to see loose end tied but it sucks that the writer and whoever else stated that they would not make a movie

Huh. I didn't know Aronofsky (sp?) did The Wrestler.

Requiem for a Dream was like bottled depression.

You know, as far as remakes go, someone needs to look at those 2d fighter movies and fix them.

This is one of the newer attempts that people are trying get funding for. Trailer looks good:

A Red Dawn remake would be great. Cut out the cheesiness and the random spurts of propaganda and you got yourself a movie.

I have heard that they are remaking it but the propaganda was a very important part of that movie. It was a Cold Was movie

2 quick things:

1) There is a Red Dawn remake coming out soon. I hate this.

2) The next Christopher Nolan Batman movie is scheduled to come out in early 2012. It's in pre-production now.

I'd love to see a new take on the Last Starfighter.

Who's playing The Riddler? I'm definitely with the other poster that said Johnny Depp should get that part.

I don't think that they've announced any casting yet. I would have to agree that Johnny Depp playing the Riddler would be all kinds of awesome.

Depp stated that if there was another Batman movie he wants to be the one that plays the Riddler. I my view is if someone like Depp states that then it is a done deal. Depp is to big and to good of an actor to pass up on. Also he has the crazy, quirky thing locked down.
