Looks like Bayless is on the wrong side of the equation. ;)

You should really add the math to get a better grasp on how BYCs work.

Both google and sham. have Camby's salary 1 million lower than what ESPN says it is, but both trade checkers confirm this works, even if my numbers won't.

Sham has Camby's salary exactly as it appears in the trade post. Looks like another $700k is needed still.

New York Outgoing/Blazers Incoming

Kobe Bryant $24,806,250

New York Incoming/Blazers Outgoing

Marcus Camby $10,110,750
Brandon Roy $13,520,500
Jerryd Bayless $2,292,600

10,110,750 + 6,760,250 + 2,292,600 = 19,163,600 x 1.25% + 100,000 = 24,054,500
*this total needed to be > the Lakers salary which it is not

you are correct roc

total up the math and type the numbers and you will see it does not work. Sham (and yahoo for things not on sham yet) is the official salary for this game! If you took the time to work the numbers in the deal you posted and totaled them using BYC (as you are required to do when posting a deal) you would see if does not work. jcdallas has done these games before and should know this, which is most likely why the totals are not listed because they do not work

DEAL CAN NOT BE APPROVED BECAUSE IT IS NOT LEGAL UNDER THE CBA

Yao: 'No Idea' if I Can Return to Peak Form

Yao Ming has managed to come back from devastating injuries before.

Every time, the All-star center has returned to his Houston Rockets to be the backbone of the NBA team.

But now, at the age of 30 and still recovering a serious foot injury, China's greatest basketball player doubts he will ever reach such lofty heights again.

"I have no idea if I can return the peak of my form," the seven-time All-star center told China Daily in an exclusive interview on Wednesday in Beijing.

"I have not been tested. I have not played competitive basketball since the injury even in the training. I cannot answer if I will return to my best.

"The intensity of my training is going up gradually because at least I feel good about my injury," he said. "But talk about recovering my form is nothing but nonsense and will only be realized if I can get through the next season smoothly. Then, you will see results after that season."

Other than a completely insane statement that Billups, 1st=Rose, I've yet to see an argument as to why that trade isn't fair.

But the point is, Yao can play. It's not like he can't move or anything. He can play, just might not reach 20/9 status. Thats a risk the Magic are willing to take. Even if he doesn't reach peak form (50/50 chance), he would still be a 16-17/7 guy with like 1-2blks and could re-sign to a cheaper contract. I still don't get how this is a HORRIBLE deal tho. A great young scoring PG Brooks (19.6 PPG), scoring SG Martin (20+ PPG), rising star swingman (Ariza) on a cheap contract, a Top 10 centre in the league (Yao) even if regressed, and a lottery pick PF prospect in Patterson. Thats basically a good starting 5 lineup for a guy that regressed offensively from 20 PPG to 18 PPG (Howard) big. I also take on some bad contracts in the process. Obviously I'm a bit bias as I'm defending the deal but still, I don't see how it is rape material. I rarely have any pieces left on my roster except Scola and role players.
Also I was offered a deal involving Brooks/Ariza/Martin for Pau Gasol (I rejected but still), one of the best bigman in the NBA. So if you look at it this way, Pau Gasol + lottery pick (Patterson) + Yao Ming for D12 and bunch of bad contracts, I don't see how it is rape material. If Oden still has good value, I don't see how Yao doesn't have SOME value.

Orlando, Portland, and Detroit have agreed to a deal.

Orlando Receives:

Wesley Matthews (9.2 million - http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=y ... zers071010, google has the salary wrong. They have it backloaded, rather than front.)
Dante Cunningham (762,195)

Detroit Receives:

Kevin Martin (10,600,005)

Portland Receives:

Tayshaun Prince (11,147,760)

Rationale: Kevin Martin would not have received adequate playing time in Orlando. We are very high on Thabo Sefolosha and wants him to see significant playing time. Bringing in Wesley Matthews gives us a very young and talented 2-guard rotation and some of the league's best defense. We love Matthew's shooting, ability to play 3 positions effectively, and most importantly his work ethic. Dante Cunningham is another 2nd year player that we are very excited about. He's got the hustle, the defense, rebounding and a very smooth mid-range shot. We feel that he can grow into a very important player in our rotation in the coming years.

Pistons accept, we hate to lose Prince who has been a mainstay of the Pistons organization, but we're very excited at adding the prospect of one of the better young scorers in the league to go along side Granger and Stuckey on the perimeter.

guys PLEASE STOP ALL TRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS! this is getting completly messed up. Commish is MIA and trades are being approved with players that are not even on the team that is trading them.

Please halt all trades before the entire game gets lost and needs a reset. Give commish a day to post something about this situation or at least respond to an email. I have sent 2 and got no answer. Please stop trading guys that are not even on your team yet (Kev Martin is not on Magic yet so can not be traded). If commish does not get things straightened out within the next 24 hours me and rocdogg will co-commish because this is getting out of control.

Co-Commish would be stupid, let one guy run the show but I agree, the commish needs to start doing something..

not stupid, especially when the commish is also a GM. I helped lukekarts out on many decisions last game and acted as commish when he made trades or wanted to sign FAs.

That is how we kept things running smoothly with having a GM that was commish. I think it worked out great. This is a dif scenario since nba_addict does not have a team. He can run it all by himself.

but

If he decides he does not have the time to commit and a GM is needed to take over. I will reprise my roll from last game and only work in the background except when needed out front.

my preference...

nba_addict gets up to speed and we get this thing back on track.

Post#178 » by TMACFORMVP » Thu Jul 22, 2010 11:32 pm

I think these are the deals that still need to be approved (up to this page), and I tried to specify which trades each were contingent on. I did not include the Kobe to Blazers deal because they still need to add a minimum contract to make the deal work. I think at this stage of the game, it'd be best to approve the Melo/Rose trade. The only trades with vetoes, I believe would be the large Orlando/Houston trade, and the first Lakers/Knicks trade. Edit: Then again, those were the only more public ones. I personally do not believe in vetoes, but it is how it is sometimes.

nba_addict by mistake accidentally approved Ibaka to Lakers deal when Clippers GM still had not accepted the deals, so the Clippers deals technically would HAVE to be approved in order for already approved trades to have happened if that makes sense. But I think all work, and were accepted to become accepted again, so that's why those are not in here as well. Same with the Gordon trade to New Orleans as well.

Lakers/Knicks *Not contingent

Code: Select all

The deal is actually this:

LAL outgoing:

Kobe Bryant $24,806,250

NYK outgoing:

Amare Stoudemire $16,500,000
Danilo Gallinari $3,304,560
Wilson Chandler $2,130,482
Toney Douglas $1,071,000

Total Salaries: $23,006,042
Clearly the Salaries work.

Why?
I accept this deal for alot of reason's, but i will highlight a few. First, I really wanted that Memphis package for Kobe, but it was a no go. Then i thought to myself "F it ill just keep kobe". Then i said to myself " im a man to my word, i gotta continue the rebuild". LOL With that being said, i stuck to the rebuild and moved Kobe. Here i get a star big man who fits perfectly with Bynum. I get a guy in Gallinari who when open has the wettest jumper in the NBA, and with the team i will create, he will be open. I also get Chandler who for the moment will be my starting 2 guard. It might not be the best deal out there for Kobe, but this is the deal i want. This is a game, yes, and i want to stick to my plan. Kobe is Kobe but we got to move on. Its one of the saddest days in LA, and yet one of the happiest. Kobe we wish you the best of luck in New York, the mecca of Bball. THis also means i dont have to get a big man in return for Gasol.

Raptors/Grizzlies *Not contingent

Code: Select all

The Raptors and Grizzlies have come to an agreement on a second trade between the teams:

Jarrett Jack $4,600,000
Solomon Alabi (unsure of official numbers yet)*
for
rights to Xavier Henry
rights to Greivis Vasquez

*3 year contract, contract speculated to start at around $700K

The Grizzlies use their cap room to absorb Jack and Alabi's contracts.

Nuggets/Sixers *Contingent on Rose/Melo deal? - should be NC

Code: Select all

The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76'ers have agreed to the following:

Part 1: 76'ers send Evan Turner [4,602,720] to the Nuggets for a TPE

Denver has a 11 Million TPE so this deal works

Part 2:

The Nuggets will send:
Ty Lawson - 1,546,560
J.R Smith- 6,694,851
Taj Gibson - 1,117,680
Chris Andersen - 3,942,000
Total: $13,301,091 x 1.25 = 16626363.8

The 76'ers will send:

Elton Brand - $15,959,100

Hornets/Bobcats *Not contingent

Code: Select all

New Orleans have agreed a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats.

New Orleans send:

Emeka Okafor - $11,540,375
Craig Brackins - $1,306,920

for

Erick Dampier - $13,078,000

Spurs/Blazers *Not contingent

Code: Select all

Tim Duncan$18,835,331
2011 SAS 2nd

Outgoing:$15,811,264X125%=$19,764,080
Incoming:$18,835,331

San Antonio Gets:
Greg Oden$6,760,524
Joel Pryzbilla$7,405,300
Luke Babbitt$1,645,440
Right's to Victor Claver

Outgoing:$18,835,331
Incoming:$15,811,264X125%=$19,764,080

Knicks/Spurs *Not contingent - UNLESS IT IS FOR KOBE

Code: Select all

NYK out/SAS in

Anthony Randolph $1,965,720
Bill Walker $854,389

NYK in/SAS out

Matt Bonner $2,750,000
George Hill $854,389

New York does this because we feel that we need a real impact of the bench, and we get that with Hill, a guy we really like. Bonner also gives up Championship experience with some 3pt shooting we need.

Hornets/Mavericks *Contingent on Hornets/Bobcats

Code: Select all

New Orleans will send:

C- Erick Dampier - $13,078,000
SF- Quincy Pondexter - $1,073,280

for

C- Tyson Chandler - $12,600,000

Deal works ($12.6m *125% + £100k > $14.1m)

Hornets/Mavericks *Not Contingent

Code: Select all

New Orleans have announced another trade, this time with the Indiana Pacers

New Orleans sends:

James Posey - $6,478,600
Aaron Gray - $1,500,000
2011 1st (unprotected)
2013 2nd

for

TJ Ford - $8,500,000

the deal works!

Sixers/Bobcats *CONTINGENT on Sixers/Nuggets (Turner)

Code: Select all

PHI ad CHA have agreed to a trade:

Lou Williams - $5.00m
Ty Lawson - $1.55m
JR Smith - $6.69m
Chris Anderson - $3.94m
Willie Green - $3.98m

Total - $21.16m (x1.25 + $100k = $26.55m)

for

Jameer Nelson - $7.60m
Stephen Jackson - $8.45m
Boris Diaw - $9.00m

Total - $25.05m

Philly accepts.

Suns/Nuggets *CONTINGENT on Sixers/Nuggets (Turner)

Code: Select all

Suns Get
Elton Brand $15,959,100

Nuggets Get
Hedo Turkoglu $10,215,850
Channing Frye $5,200,000

We hope Turkoglu and Frye succeed in Denver. We felt as if going forward we were going to need a more traditional power forward. Even though we understand at this point in Brand's career he is just a role player, we hope he can still give us 15ppg, 9rpg. We have the best medical staff to date and we hope we can get Brand back into form. Also Brand's deal is a year shorter than Turkoglu's.

Pistons/Pacers *NOT contingent

Code: Select all

The Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers have agreed upon a trade.

The Pistons send Greg Monroe ($2,798,040), Jonas Jerebko ($762,195), Jonny Flynn ($3,192,000), Jason Maxiell ($5,000,000), 2011 DET AND 2012 1st in exchange for Danny Granger ($11,173,202).

Pistons Outgoing/Pacers Incoming: $11,752,235
Pacers Outgoing/Pistons Incoming: $11,173,202

Deal OBVIOUSLY works!

We HATE to give up so much, we really do. Had to think about this for a long time (and still thinking to be honest), but the purpose of acquiring multiple assets earlier in the game is to get a player I could finally build around. With Granger, we feel we can do that. With Stuckey, and Beasley around Granger, and some expirings, we hope we can build something that can compete now, and grow in the future.

Lakers/Suns *CONTINGENT on Kobe/Knicks deal

Code: Select all

Lakers Get
Jason Richardson $14,444,443
Grant Hill $3,240,000
Earl Clark $1,898,760
Goran Dragic $$1,972,000
2010 1st Round Pick
Rights to Gani Lawal

Suns Get
Ron Artest $6,322,320
Kenyon Martin $16,795,454
Toney Douglas $1,071,000

Accept. Artest is one of the best defensive players in the game, and can create his own shot as well. He had a down season offensively as a Laker, since the tri offense limited his game. Now Artest can drive and post up with more room to operate. Martin is another good defensive/rebounding big we're happy to add. He also has a big expiring contract. We like Douglas as a prospect better than Dragic. Douglas is a good overall scorer and a good defender.

Rockets/Magic *Not sure, don't believe it's contingent on anythingl

Code: Select all

Dwight Howard - 16,647,180
Drew Gooden - 5,765,000
Luke Walton - 5,260,000
Corey Maggette - 9,600,000
Steve Blake - 4,000,000
Total: 41,272,180

for

Yao Ming - 17,686,100
Aaron Brooks - 2,016,692
Patrick Patterson - 1,823,280
Trevor Ariza - 6,322,320
Kevin Martin - 10,600,005
Total: 38,448,397

A quick estimation: 38 x 1.25 = 47 > 41

Nuggets/Rockets *POSSIBLY contingent on Yao deal?

Code: Select all

The Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets have agreed to the following

Houston will send:

Jared Jeffries $6,883,800
Chase Budinger $780,871

in exchange for

JJ Redick - 7,000,000

Deal Works

We needed to cut salary and so we did!

[The Nuggets will also receive Chuck Hayes $2,334,125 for a 2016 2nd round pick Top 58 protected] TPE From Chicago deal

Spurs/Kings *CONTINGENT on Spurs/Blazers

Code: Select all

Sacramento and San Antonio have agreed on a simple, yet crazy trade

Sacramento trades: Demarcus Cousins - $3,374,640
San Antonio trades: Greg Oden - $6,760,524

The Martin/Matthews/Prince deal that was just posted today would obviously be dependent on the Rockets/Magic large deal.
