Jason Ferguson Traded To Miami

Post#1 » by f l u r p » Sat Mar 1, 2008 1:49 am

We swap our low sixth for the first pick in the sixth round. We also get Miami's sixth next year free and clear.

With Ratliff and Tank, we're probably ok with out Jason. He was awesome for interviews though and will be missed in the room, I'm sure.

he was our best player in run support, he likely wouldve been June 1st casualty had he not been traded, he clears a couple million for cap space. still would like to get a big nose tackle b/c ratliff could be just as effective as a 3-4 end

I like it. It sounded all year like he wasnt going to be brought back anyways due to a combination of age/salary, and then the injury pretty much sealed it. Its not much but every little bit counts.

I think we're pretty well set in the front seven, though i wouldnt mind adding another NT if its a good fit. Id also see if we could get Kearse cheap. Hed be a nice luxury to have to throw in there occasionally. Im not sure theres room for him though, depending who we all keep at LB, and It sounds like hes too small to play end now.

I like this move both from a pick and salary standpoint.
