Great job by Mitch!
I think we've had a great off season. We didn't stand idle while others were loading up.
We went and got 3 hungry guys, and resigned DFish.

I think Mitch is the best GM in the league, by far.

Yeah right

And where is he gonna play with all that depth ?

Fish,Kobe,Blake,Barnes and maybe Sasha a little bit will take the minutes at guard position

Where does Brown fit?Nowhere...

And he will ask a multiyear deal too......no thanks

Think a little bit before you post will ya?

Man I remember back in the days Laker fans would wanna set this due on fire, now all is good. Time I flown by pretty fast. The signings were solid and no complaints. If we can add even more it's icing on the cake.

I see it like this:

Blake > Farmar
Ratliff > Mbenga
Ebanks > Morrison
Caracter > Powell
Barnes > Luke / Sasha

How can you really even argue against that?

Is this really saying much connsidering how unproductive those guys were last year?

I still think the bench lacks offensive pop (and solid PG defense).

Every great bench has a guy on it that will average a solid 13 points with the ability to drop thirty on any given night ... Odom, Blake, and Barnes aren't offensive players.

I like Blake (although I think he should start, but not finish, games), I like Odom too (but I think he should start as well with Gasol or Bynum providing offense off the bench).

Sure. Those guys on our bench were very unproductive last year, but the Lakers did win the NBA Championship... My point being that we essentially upgraded every bench position-- I think that is significant.

Odom averages around 10-13ppg IIRC, yeah he's not going to drop 30, but between Blake/Odom/Barnes/Brown they should be somewhere in the ballpark. Let's see how it plays out-- but I don't think anyone can argue that our bench didn't improve.

Great job Mitch but also props to Buss for the willingness to pay the luxury tax.
