Could our 1-2 Punch include CP3?

Now that the Hornets say that a team HAS to take Emeka, that could increase our chances. Here's our big opening, Bird needs to go after this one.

Well since any deal with us and CP3 would probably end up with NOLA asking for Granger, it bears mentioning that Danny is from New Orleans.

They wouldn't ask for Danny, it would not only be a deal breaker for Bird & co but it would be a deal breaker for Chris Paul. If he's receptive to playing for the Pacers, a large part of the reason will be playing with Granger. And he's a far superior player to anyone that any other team could offer so he isn't necessary to put together a competitive offer. At absolute best the Hornets would get one of George/Hibbert as the 'young player' part of their return.

Not sure about our chances of getting CP3. But as Val Holiday said. If they didn't ask for Granger and they wanted either George or Hibbert. I'm guessing Hibbert would be a better fit. Seeing as Emeka is most likely going to go wherever Paul does, they're losing a starting center. So obviously Roy would take that spot yeah?

Interesting to see how this all works out.

Come on! Don't be so negative.

Sure, that the Hornets would be stupid if they deal CP3 now. But that doesn't mean they will deal him right now or never. There will be two more years before his contract is expired. The Hornets still could try to deal CP3 next summer.

And just think about this, after one season, if the Pacers end up without clinching into playoffs, which is very possible for us, and win the lottery. Then the next summer we'll have plenty of salary space, a top 3 pick, and some young talents like Rush, George, Stephenson, Hansbrough which all maybe get more mature and healthier. Those above could be the assets that appeal to the Hornets, if they would worry CP3 leaving in summer 2012.

What's more important, is that both Larry Bird and David Morway's contracts will expired and so will Jim O'Brien's. We could hope to get a better GM, who may turn this trade come true, a better coach whom CP3 would like to play with.
