Team USA

Post#1 » by Balkman32 » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:08 pm

Of the 22 trying out for the team only 12 make the roster. Who makes your roster?

POINT GUARDS
Chauncey Billups, Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo

SHOOTING GUARDS
Tyreke Evans, Stephen Curry, Eric Gordon, O.J. Mayo

SMALL FORWARDS
Kevin Durant, Gerald Wallace, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger, Andre Iguodala

POWER FORWARDS
Jeff Green, Lamar Odom, David Lee, Kevin Love, Amare Stoudemire (He is out)

CENTERS
Brook Lopez, Tyson Chandler, JaVale McGee, Robin Lopez

Can the Thunder really populate 1/4 of this team?

No Way!

I like Green, but I don't think they call his number.

Maybe Westbrook if they carry 3 pg's? I would take him over Rose anyway because he is more of a distributor than Rose is. Westbrook shares the rock Rose shoots it. But this team could use some scoring power. So I think Rose makes it too. Plus he seems to be a budding star the league wants to push.

Durant is a given. I see Granger over Green. Granger is a much better Jeff Green. Here's the rest.

PG Rondo, Westbrook, Rose
SG Mayo, Reke, Curry
SF Durant, Granger
PF Kevin Love, David Lee
C Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez (just for the twin angle marketing)

Brook Lopez turned out to be a stud. He did play well in the Pac-ten when the Pac-ten was considered good. I was wary of him coming out of College, because I just didn't know if he was going to be quick enough, but he just seems to get it. Knowing where he needs to be.

I liked Robin though, Robin has a decent game. I liked him at Stanford. I was hoping he was going to drop to 24 during the 2008 draft. But he went 15th to the Suns and the Sonics drafted Serge Ibaka, so it worked out.

But I think Robin would fit really well in OKC front court, no offense to Cole. I hope Cole turns out to be like Rob I'd give up Cole and White maybe LA'S pick for him.

Speaking of that pick does anyone know all the details on that? If it's protectd and for how long?

Maybe I wouldn't give it up for him?

But back to the oiginal question, I don't think it is very likely that Green makes it. Westbrook has a chance and Durant will be there.

No word yet on the LAC pick yet. But, they already traded their 2011 pick (It is lottery protected). So I would say it is 2012 Top 3 protected. (I really don't think the Thunder would trade a #18 pick for a 2012 pick that had some crazy restrictions.)

It's top 10 protected for five seasons beginning in 2012.

Odom out of shape, David Lee is out, and R. Lopez is injured. Looks like Green might make this team!

I'd like to see Rondo start PG over Rose.

PG: Rondo / Rose / Westbrook
SG: Gordon / Mayo/ Iguadala
SF: Durant / GAY / green

Lopez will make the team but I can't believe how bad he looked in scrimmage.

Not Rondo but I think he is equal to Rose. Personally I think Rose is a very good scorer, then what? Westbrook can score, create and play D. I like my PG to play like a PG. I don't need to have my PG be my #1 option.

Neither one has a 3pt shot but I hear Rose has found one this offf season. But he still has to prove it.

Westbrook is not a better point guead. But,he is a better overall around player. Look at FT, plus he can play off the ball.
