Min sends Martel Webster, Corey Brewer, and 1st rnd pick/s to NOH for Chris Paul
Acquire Melo next year from FA
Paul/Flynn
Johnson/Ellington
Anthony/Hayward
Love or Beasley
Darko/Pek
Trade Rubio for an upgrade at Center.

Couple lottery picks, cash, young rising talent in Brewer and good player in Webster for Paul? Not THAT crazy

problem is it won't be (deep) lottery picks nor are Brewer and Webster that talented to net us a Chris Paul type of player. you never know though.

I think people would assume the New Orleans front office was burying him out here in revenge for forcing the trade if anything like that were to happen. The thing is, people can and do act out of very petty motivations...
I certainly don't think that CP3 dictating terms to people ("these teams... no THIS team") is going to play out very well for him.

on the wiretap:
I really like that NOH is supposedly going to tell him to suck it up because he has a contract there, so he has to play there. I HATE this making a list of teams that you have to trade me to because I'm a spoiled brat bull.
The Hornets have been turning away the latest series of calls from other teams on point guard Chris Paul, according to front-offices sources.
"They say they aren't moving him," one rival team executive said of New Orleans.
Paul is scheduled to meet with new coach Monty Williams and general manager Dell Demps on Monday.
Sources with knowledge of the situation say the Hornets are unlikely to change their stance, even if Paul personally tells the team that he wants to be traded.

The Miami "Bandwagon Theory" may likely have a negative impact on CP3's plan ... I just can't see NOH will allow this to happen. They need to stand pat or this whole thinkg could unravel.
Too often, it seems owners are making the mistake of getting caught with bad contracts. As they stick their neck out in attempt to keep a certain player happy or lose gambling on a player with potential, the wins somtimes don't come. Then on the backside, you have these idiots complaining that the team can't win (as if there has been no attept and much money lost trying) ... Do these players realize the situation is tied to them? Obviously not ... then they want out.
Far-fetched opinion: the NBA is on their way to becoming a true 6-team league ... call me crazy, but I can envision this continuing, and ultimately, becoming a world league. The players are going to have a fallout because as teams fold, players will lose jobs. This whole league is beginning to look like a bunch of clowns.

Do you help Portland trade for Chris Paul by offering up cap space if the Wolves get nice assets back? Do you risk pairing Paul and Roy for 10 years?
If so, what is the price? Is Batum and picks enough? Do you try for Oden or some of their euro stash guys?
Great question Esohny.
For the right price, I'd help POR get Chris Paul, if the move helped us against the other 29 teams in the league.
1. Paul alone doesn't make the team indominatable
2. MIN is very far from competing for championships, regardless of whether its intheir division or not.
3. MIN can't afford to say no to a move that may give them a significant piece.
I always thought POR was the most logical choice. They have assets and are young enough to fit well with Paul. The three teams Paul's people supposedly listed make little sense for the Hornets.

Agree. Paul/Roy is scary on paper, but those guys both have serious injury concerns. I'd play ball.

So does Oden. Unless Batum is the target and you are sure he will make us a better team in the long run than a Paul/Roy combo. I for one am not.

Re: Chris Paul allegedly trying to force a trade.
I think Paul might be a Net. Favors/Williams/Harris might get it done. Problem is, they decided to sign Farmar and Outlaw to those horrible deals and handicapped their ability to also get Melo next year.
