Stephen Jackson would be perfect off the bench
Captain Jack is a solid player who can score and defend. Also he played with O'Neal and Marquis in Indy. Larry Brown would love to have Rasheed on his team if he decides not to retire. Plus we could give them Bradley since we don't really need him and they are in need of another point guard.

I'm not sure I want Stephen "the locker room cancer" Jackson on this team. If we get desperate, then maybe.

Yea but he got so much hype last year, people were starting to talk about him being an all-star...i dont think charlotte would do it, even for the cap relief...I think he could create off the bench which we need, maybe be our jamal crawford

I'd rather have someone who isn't afraid to talk then someone whose quiet. Because its often the big mouths that are the better players.

I think they might want to trade him because they have an abundance of small forwards. But you might be right.

No thanks. Last thing I want is the team bus being shot up in a drive-by thanks to this gangster's shenanigans. It's no surprise that trouble manages to follow this guy in every city. Plus he rivals Patrick Ewing for biggest nostrils in NBA history. Guy can pick his nose from the side.

Jax isn't a locker room cancer at all. He's pretty well respected, actually.
Contract, legal issues and his sometimes selfish play aside, can you name an example of him not getting along with teammates or a coach?
Dude even went into the stands in Detroit to help a teammate.

He had one incident in Indy when he shot a gun outside a club while getting hassled, but you guys are just off-base on him.
Not a cancer, not a loudmouth. Pretty quiet and reserved guy off the floor, actually.
Perhaps he is just too black for you?
FWIW, this latest incident with his wife getting robbed is pretty fishy. He is going through a divorce and apparently of the mind that the whole thing was staged by his wife just so she could get some of their more valuable possessions outside the boundaries of a court settlement. Take it or leave it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Stephen Jackson is a very nice player (way to good to be dumped by the Bobcats).
A true team player, very presentable nice guy (almost Ray-like) and they loved him in San Antonio.
Never going to happen.

Some how punching fans in the face doesn't seem to presentable to me.
Anyway Bobcats aren't dumping him as he starts there at the 2. I agree he would be great off the bench but if we wanted him we should have made a move last year when the Warriors dumped him for nothing.

I don't think Sheed+Bradley would get it done.

I fail to see how this helps Charlotte. They are trying to get better, not worse.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

I wouldn't go so far as to compare him to Ray, and I don't condone him punching a fan, but... i do give him props for backing up Artest there. Your boy starts a fight at a bar or party, and right or wrong, you gotta back him up. He did that, and I will go to war with a guy like that every time.
I will say this, though. He freaking humiliated Bobby Rowell, the Ws team president and de facto head honcho. No details necessary, but it was borderline Delonte territory, and he ended up with an undeserved and unnecessary extension -- while making his boss look like a complete and total donkey, lol.

Do some research before you say this stuff please.
"Some sources identify Jackson in a more positive manner. Former teammate Tim Duncan once labeled Jackson as the "ultimate teammate" during his days in San Antonio. ESPN analyst and sportswriter Michael Smith finds Jackson to be "articulate, charming, and thoughtful."[32] Lang Whitaker, executive editor of Slam Magazine, states Jackson is "one of my favorite players, after all."[33]"
From his Wiki article.
Anyone who Tim Duncan calls a great teammate, must be one if you ask me. Duncan is a proven winner and probably the classiest man in the NBA. I doubt he'd be feeding Jackson a line of crap with that one. Think about the teams he's been on after he played for the Spurs. He was in Indy with the whack-job Artest, and then GS. Once he got traded to the Warriors they caught fire, and helped turn the team around. He was only a bitch towards the end of his stint there because their FO sucks massive balls, and he was great for the Bobcats after his trade demands were met.
Sure he might have a few screws loose, but who doesn't? I doubt he's any crazier than KG and certainly not crazier than Sheed. I'd rather have him out there speaking his mind and playing his heart out, than watch Daniels play and act like a spineless loser.
Also, on topic this trade is unrealistic. Charlotte has no reason whatsoever to make it.

Re: Stephen Jackson would be perfect off the bench
I am not a fan of S-Jax as is, he might or might not be a good teammate but he is not a very good team player. Not a terrible one but the type of guy where I doubt a team could possibly win a championship with S-Jax playing a major > 20 mpg role. On offense he's like a more talented Tony Allen, and on defense maybe he's a better version of Kedrick Brown. 31 years old with about 3 yrs 30 mil on his contract...
I'd still take him if the alternative was signing, say, Rasual Butler. We definitely need a wing in his mold. But I would much rather find a way to overpay for a guy like Josh Howard.

He played almost 30 MPG on the 2002-2003 Spurs including 58 starts. Howard isn't much younger and is an injury plagued headcase. Give me Captain Jack all day.

Ok fine, I mis-spoke, the guy just has legal troubles, but he's still a headache. What difference does it make? I don't like players who have a history of getting in trouble.
P.S. I find it funny that you copy and paste something from wikipedia and consider that doing research.

We have had a few guys come through here who were much worse.
TA walked into a crowed Loop restaurant with his boys after hitting the clubs one night, pointed at a dude and shouted for his boys to, "Kill that motherf---er!"
Which they very nearly did.
Telfair had some rapper shot outside a retaurant around the same time for stealing his bling.
And while not violent, let's not even get into the extra-curriculars of Antoine, Ricky D, Payton, etc...

Out of curiosity, was that confirmed?

S. Jackson is not the answer. We need to sign, s&t, a young PF/C. No more over the hill players.
