Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
I know you guys are all hard up for a PF immediately, even though a stud PF isn't available. Trading for a PF for the sake of trading makes no sense. I thought about JRich and I got really excited. The guy is only 29 yrs old and has no injury issues. I think he is becoming a big time player for us, maybe even an on the court leader. I remember he was the only one playing with emotion in game 6 of the WCF before Goran took over, dude has fire.
JRich is a dynamic player, period. How many guys in this league can put up 42 points in a big playoff game?? Giving him up for nothing is a big no-no. We could have Jrich and JChill as our 2 wing guys for the next 4-5 years. If we can resign JRich to a decent deal next yr, we should keep him.
Think about it...Do they not fit our style perfectly? Both athletic guys who can slash to the hoop and shoot the open 3's (JChill is a 36% shooter, add 2-3 pts min being in our O, see Grant Hill if you have doubts.), finish strong on the break.
Give it a chance before we go making anymore trades
I really like this line-up
Nash 6'3
JRich 6'6
JChill 6'8
Turk 6'10
Lopez 7'0
that isn't undersized and Jrich and JChill can really help on the boards.

Agreed but anything more than 8M would be overpaying...Unless he has a career year averaging over 20 at over 45% from the field and around 40% from three I could see him getting 10M at the most.

Lets hope he has a TT like contract year then let him go. 14 mil expiring is valuable, lets see what we can get for him in Feb.

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
I'd love to make a trade using J-Rich's expiring contract to a losing team, where they would just buy him out and he would return to the Suns by the time playoffs come around.
The best trade scenario I could see would be Jason Richardson, Earl Clark, Jared Dudley, 2011 First Round Pick for Josh Smith and Marvin Williams. Then they could buy-out Richardson and we could get him right before the playoffs start. Then we'd have...
Nash/Dragic
Richardson/Childress
Hedo/Hill/Williams
Smith/Warrick
Lopez/Frye
Or maybe just a J-Rich for Josh Smith/LaMarcus Aldridge.

The whole point is....We have a good 2 and 3 if we keep JRich. What do we have at the 2 id we lose JRich??? JRich is on the upper echleon of SGs. I don't see Clark as a future 3 anymore and Dudley is a scraper off of the bench who can't finish. I think Turk can hold down the 4.
I think we are jumping the gun trying to down grade our 2 to up grade our 4. I don't think we even need to go coventional with the 4 if Lopez runs the PnR like he is able to do. Don't forget, we are looking for a 4 to replace Amare's offense, not defense.
Lopez and Turk can get those points and we dont down grade. We will never beat LAL at their game anyways, so why try. The Shaq experiment proved that. Hell, we got to the WCF with basically Frye playing our 5. So Turk replaces Frye and Robin replaces Amare and you still have Frye coming off of the bench.
If Rolo can't run the PnR, then we need to find a scoring PF, until then, I'm cool with giving Turk and Rob a shot.

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
I agree we have to keep him. AT LEAST until the deadline. If he is sucking there, I'm sure there will be a few good offers for his expiring. I just wanna see if he can keep up his playoff level, specially now that he'll have a bigger offensive role.

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
Keep j-Rich. If he loses his hops, he's still got his good 3pt shot. I think re-signing him at 5 years MLE sounds fair.

and his post up scoring. And coming off screens for mid range 2's. He's a good investment at something John Salmons-ish as they're pretty similar players.
Unless something overly compelling pop's up I say we keep him. I think he'd like to stay too. He plays very well with Goran as well as Nash
If anyone gets traded, I think it's gonna be Dudley. I agree with the point made here http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2010/ ... #storyjump
He'll leave for a bigger paycheck. Frye gave up 4 extra mil to stay here instead of go to the Clippers, but I don't think Dudley would. He mentioned he developed his 3 point shot so that when contract time came he'd have more to offer and he's made jokes on his twitter about being traded. He's a fantastic trade piece as he's a great player, but Childress is gonna play the same role, so he's kind of a moot point. Dudley and a pick or 2 would be more than some teams have been getting for very good players who just want out (Utah for example). Just gotta wait for the right trade

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
When you come to think about it, Duds does seem like he isn't entirely interested in staying. I won't be surprised to see him ending up in New York or LA, or even Miami. Him talking about LBJ to the Knicks on TMZ already showed us he really likes that spotlight.
I don't know. To me, if he stays, that'll be the best. Of course if we have some trade offers for him, we should look at them.
As for JRich, the only reason to keep him is because we're a playoff team. If we're not, I'd say let him walk.

I'd like to see Jrich play like he did half season, all yr if we're gonna keep him or resign him. He could easily turn into the guy we couldn't wait to get rid of.

JRich wants to compete in post season. He might sign for MLE but unlikely with Suns where Nash retires in two years and lottery looms large for the 5 years after that.

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
If Dudley wants to be traded, what is a fair offer for him? We definatly aren't giving him up for nothing.
I hope J-Rich stays, because he is the perfect Sg for this team. But, he has every right to go to a contending team if he wishes to.

I don't see him "wanting" to be traded as long as he gets decent playing time. I just see him leaving for another lifestyle.

Re: Keep and Resign JRich Too!!
Find a team with a spare PF for the TPE ($5.7mil)... that would benefit us. Thats how you trade Dudley, as his contract would only yield a $2.6 mil man.
That team also has to appeal to JD as he's up for a new deal next yr.
And please make it an eastern team.
Good luck
