He is a player I've wanted to bring here for a long time but he has developed a lot slower than what I expected. He is insanely inconsistent. He'll struggle all season and you give up on him and then he just comes out of nowhere and starts pulling double-doubles. In his defense at least last season he played well from about mid-Feb onwards but that's a long time to get going.
Early in his career he fell in love with his jumpshot way too much and he's still only a 40.6% eFG jumpshooter. Possibly more concerning is that 64% of his shots *are* jumpshots (only 5% are dunks, compared to say Amare's 16% and Lopez's 22%). Way too many jumpers for such a physical beast.
Haven't seen enough of them to know whether it's a coaching thing or whether there's something wrong between Blathce's ears. Seems like he is capable of doing anything when he puts his mind to it but it's just whether he could be stuffed.
I would do Clark + Dudley + Lawal for Blatche but at this stage I'm not sure whether I would give away too much more than that (at the most a heavily protected 1st rounder as well). I'm also not sure how Lopez and Blatche would go playing together. I think they are a little too similar but if it worked we would be brilliant.

There's no question he has talent but the guy is a douche and not a high character guy so the Suns should pass on him. Didn't he cuss out his coach or something like that?

The more I think of it, the more I would rather have McGee. 7 footer that is athletic. So if we make a trade, we can use the TE with a pick right?
From when I watch him play, he does not show that at all. He has a good all around game, but is not that fast or that athletic.Way too many jumpers for such a physical beast.

Well I'm not the only one who thinks so. There's more to athleticism then just speed, but I agree he's not the quickest. This is a good article about him btw:
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/20 ... y-blatche/
At 6-11 and approximately 250 pounds, Blatche had the body, natural athleticism and diverse skill-set that put him in the rare class of players who genuinely have no ceiling.
This is a really good article from his summer league last year and sums up the type of player I think he is.

He’ll hit a contested, off-balance 17 footer on one possession, or drain an uncontested 21-footer with time and space before badly missing an open pull up off of one dribble or missing a series a catch and shoot opportunities.

Re: andray blatche??
KJ, you are totally wrong my friend. You have to be here to know. He really just never had a real chance and thats why he's so inconsistent. If you are young on our team and make one mistake then you will be benched for the greatest leader of men & the ultimate proffesional in Jamison (notice the sarcasm). All Jamison did was talk down about the young guys, play no defense, was a total black hole on Offense, and had some of the worst shot selection in the leauge. If we didnt make the trades then everyone still would say Blatche isnt special but all he ever wanted was a chance.
You are right in that he took alot of jumpers but he always argued that if he isnt on the perimiter shooting J's, then he wont even touch the rock. His jumper was inconsistent because our overall team was like that. I think his J is as good as any big in the league not named Dirk. When we made the trades, he went down to the block and was killing cats with unlimited post moves. I dont want to sound like a homer but I believe he is maybe the most skilled big in the leauge. He's probably the best ball handler or 2nd to Odom. He's got alot of post moves, he has nice size, he is one of the best passing bigs as he does it just like a guard, has a soft J with range, is unselfish, and has a great inside/outside game.
Its funny because you 2 talking about him is what fans on other teams say. Half the fans think he's a perimiter guy with handles, a j, and good passing, while the other half will think that he's a low post back to the basket guy. He switches up like that alot of times. We may play 5 games in a row when he's almost strictly on the perimiter and the next 5 he will be almost strictly on the block. Man I wish he didnt get hurt. Everyone said he was working out so hard. I know he wouldve beasted this year but now he will be starting from scratch when the season hits

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I remember another "potential big" which all Wizards fans said would be phenomenal if it wasn't for bad management/coaching etc. No-one wanted to give him up because he couldve been an all-star and was a rare center who had athleticism. Occassionally every season he would pull a double-double and all the Wizards fans would say "THIS is what he is capable of when giving the mins..." etc.
Yep, Kwame Brown!
I know that's a bit harsh but I've seen Wizards fans over-value their players on a regular basis so excuse me if I'm a little cautious about your evaluation and would rather trust third party, professional, independant analsysis and based on the very limited amount I see of him.
And no, I'm not saying that Blatche will bust like Kwame, I'm just saying that I'm taking some things you say like "I will take him over Amare next season" with a rather heavy grain of salt.
And yet you only won one game in the entire month of March.
Anyway, it's not like this is going anywhere, Wizards fans and management think he's practically un-tradable so lets move on.

Re: andray blatche??
2 things about our wins. It was bad timing. 1st off we had the hardest sked in the league when we lost all those games. We had 1 stretch where we were like the 1st time in over 20 years to play like 5 games in 7 days, and also 3 games in 3 days. We also played all playoff teams for like 15 games straight. Still, after we made the trades we looked very good and won some games but then Howard went down and that was the last straw. I dont care what PF it wouldve been, they wouldnt have won those games without Howard. It was a D-Leauge roster against all playoff teams, in a quick span. The Offense also totally sucked. It sucked all year. All the players hated it. We would struggle life & death to score 90. Flip then switched it very late and we started looking alot more pleasing.
Kwame was different. I feel bad for him. MJ & Doug did ruin him but Blatche's skill level is so different. We'll see this year, I guess but still maybe not due to the injury setback. I think he will still no doubt be good because he is that talented but next year is when he will really go off
