Had to step outside in the evening expecting to come home and see a Jays win but looks like the box score was not as I hoped it would be.

Oh well they won the previous game by scoring against one of the best relievers in the game so this one doesn't sting so bad.

Mr. Tenace calling Mr. Tenace, Aaron Hill and Adam Lind need you...calling Mr. Tenace.

How can they go from one year to the next and be this terrible, I've never seen consistent .290 hitters go in a season long slump like this at the same time, right after signing similar long term contracts. What a joke.

Hill didn't just sign his contract, he signed it before the 2008 season. And this is the worst possible time for him to be slumping in that regard...if the club has the choice this off-season of exercising all four of his option years, and if they don't, the 2014 drops off. They could still exercise the 2012 and 2013 options after the 2011 season, but it's $10m down the drain regardless.

Long story short, this might be about many things, but in Hill's case it sure as hell isn't him slacking because he's been paid.

It seems to me that Hill is closer to getting back on track than Lind. Hill seems to hit a lot of line drives at people, while Lind's timing is so far off it's unbelievable. Like the velocity of each pitch is such a huge surprise to him that he almost falls out of his shoes. Vernon Wells looked exactly the same way in 2008 and 2009 - timing just way, way off.

I hope both of them get it back, but I'm starting to think for chrissakes its damn near August.

Actually, Hill's having the opposite problem...he's always been a good line drive hitter, but right now he has the worst line drive percentage in the majors, by a huge margin. Dunno if it's because he is trying to get lift on the ball, or if his mechanics are just screwed up, but he isn't centering pitches well
