DeltronZero wrote:Complete tangent here, but if we got Mayo for Love (as an example), our starting lineup would consist of some damn high lottery picks:
Flynn (6)
Mayo (3)
Johnson (4)
Beasley (2)
Darko (2)
That has to be the lowest total in the league. Heck, even if we didn't get Mayo, if Webster or Brewer started at SG it's still only 6 or 7 respectively.

And it's probably the worst starting lineup in the league. Kinda weird.

Mayo was the third pick in the draft because there was a belief that he had a chance to be a superstar. He has definitely not been a superstar, even with the ball in his hands on the lowly Memphis Grizzlies. He's just an OK-to-good guy, and I think the glamour that he will become a superstar is gone.
Specifically for the Wolves, I think we have to rank him a little lower. I don't think he'd stick around here, two years from now, and I think he'd want the ball too much to mesh well with Rubio. Still, Kahn loves these lottery busts, and I don't mind his fascination, if only one guy ever catches that 1% chance he reached his potential. I'd include Webster in a package.

But the truth of the matter is, your team would have been in much better shape if you'd built around Jefferson and Mayo because Love, while a gritty rebounder, is no post threat like Big Al and Flynn, Brewer, West, etc. damn sure ain't no OJ Mayo.
