It'd probably be the most productive frontcourt we've ever had. It'd definitely be the best rebounding-wise and defensively.

I think defensively they can block alot of shots, get alot of boards, and if this team gets a running, good passing PG you'll see alot of fast breaks finished. In a half court offense, I can't say because I don't know how developed Okafor is although I know he doesn't have a Olajuwon post game, I think if he can get about 10 points a game, I fully expect at least 15 from Tyrus if he gets the minutes Diaw got, they could be ok.

If this team can pull it off and they get Paul and Okafor, I think the one player that will be the icing on the cake that could get this team over the hump would be Shaq. He could start, go for 5 minute stints unless he's hot, and let Okafor get the bulk of the minutes, but in the crunchtime, when the team needs a post presence you can play Shaq with Tyrus or Okafor depending on which of them would be playing better. Also if Paul comes Shaq would probably want to play here with him and Wallace and Jack.

Not only that, but we can get him on the cheap! Plus he'd raise jersey sales which would make MJ and the FO happy! Lets get Shaq if or when CP3 gets here!!!

If the Hornets are turning away trade offers, yet Paul still reportedly wants out, and there's another report that lists the Bobcats, Magic and Nets as potential teams, then taking into consideration a Magic official already denied the reports, does that make this a two team race between Charlotte and the Nets. Also is it possible as mentioned on the rufus on fire blog that the Nets will trade us Lopez and Harris so they can have Paul and Okafor? If so, would you all like that, I know I'd love it!

I'd be very happy with that.

Yep. Not so good on offense, but I think the defense would be very solid. Might be able to cause a little havoc for Superman and Mr. Bosh.

You could twist my arm to make that deal! Honestly, I love CP3, but I am not so sure that having Harris and Lopez might not be better than having CP3 and Okafor.

An Oakfor and TT front court makes me cringe. It is worse than Primoz and Oakfor at least Primoz had a nice mid-range jumper. If they didn't catch the ball within 5 feet of the basket that front court isn't going to score (and let's be honest even if Oak catches it there its 50/50 he'll get blocked.)

I would much rather have Harris and Lopez, over CP3 and Oakfor talent and future wise. If it is in terms of increasing our market and value of our franchise bring on CP3. Harris and Lopez won't sell 1/10th combined that CP3 will. Plus imagine the money Goodwill would make if Oakfor comes back to town.

I'd love to pair Harris and Lopez with Tyrus, Crash and Jax. That would be a deadly starting group. Lopez IS a significant post-up option, and would anchor that sopt and allow T2 to fly around doing his thing (defend, block shots, cut to the basket, step out and shoot). Frankly because of Lopez upside, I'd prefer that to Paul and Okafor. Mek is OK, but he's a 12 and 10 overpriced guy who's not my preference at the 5. He's better than what we've got now, but....

As for Paul, I'd love to get him, but I'm not convinced we can hang onto the Diva.

But here's my question: if we could trade Damp for Harris and Lopez, what does Jersey send to the Hornets for CP3 and Okafor other than Damp's contract? Favors? Well, you send him and Williams, plus maybe Farmar and Morrow, you don't have any team left around Paul and Okafor!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

How does a "How good would a Tyrus Thomas & Emeka Okafor frontcourt be?" thread turn into a "Lopez and Harris" thread?

I think it would be a solid frontcourt. Thomas is the kind of PF you want with Okafor. He has a good mid range game that could offset Okafor's ZERO midrange game. I think it would work as well because homas is a great weakside guy. The two would be a beast on defense, and best we've had on offense. I would go for it...
