Lou Officially Gone. Mark Blount of Interest
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... lopez.html
I'm sure everyone already read the newest article, but it says Lou is pretty much not going to play for Suns any longer and that his agent Mark Bartelstein is looking to land him in Toronto or Golden State.
The same agent, Mark Bartelstein, also represents center Mark Blount who Coro has repeatedly said Suns have big interest in. From all the cheap big men available (Joe Smith, Anthony Tolliver, Chris Hunter, DJ Mbenga, Tim Thomas, Etan Thomas, James Singleton), I find it laughable Suns have a crush on Mark Blount. Blount is softer than Channing. It is like Channing Frye on Windows 95 instead of Windows 7.
If what is said is true about Mark Blount - and given Suns bring in both Lawal and Reynolds (as expected) - the 2010-2011 Suns Depth looks exactly like this:
G Nash - Dragic - Reynolds
G JRich - JChill - Reynolds
F Hill - Dudley - Clark
F Turk - Warrick - Lawal
C Lopez - Frye - Blount
Very deep point and wings. Terrible front line. Will get eaten up on defense and rebounds. Make playoffs and probably win first round. Lose in second round.

Blount is one of the worst rebounding seven footers of all time. And that is not a joke.
I like Etan Thomas and Joe Smith the best out the options Sunsman44 mentioned.

Yeah I know. That's no joke.
Blount ranks as one of the worst 7-foot rebounders in NBA history. Good link and good call.
But hey, he fits the Suns bill. Suns love soft players with no rebounding or defensive ability. Why mess with tradition? It's not like Suns want to win a title.......
Worst signing ever...

That link is also nice because it also exposes Andrea Bargnani too.

Suns haven't signed him...yet.
Good-bye Lou. He will be missed, but unfortunately I think Earl Clark/Hakim Warrick will eat his minutes. There just isn't enough to go around.

Because it's all about the fun n gun.

Because they don't want to win games. They like the enjoyment they get in seeing Nash and Turk pass ball to Frye and Mark Blount to shoot jumpers.

Lou deserves more mins then Earl this upcoming season. Earl couldn't even score in summer league. We need to bring back Lou for another year. Lou doesn't want to sign a one year contract, but I hope Suns can find a way to change his mind. Losing Lou will change some chemistry
I loved seeing the llllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu words around the US Airways

Ive always wondered about Etan Thomas. He is very smart, and very big; I dont think he has been given the right opportunity. Granted he is on the wrong side of 30, but I could see him fitting in very well with this squad.

Yup. Clark looked horrid in summer league. Yeah he put on a few pounds, but that muscle is no good if u got no talent. Perhaps he will get better in 2011, but not ready now....esp. when he is getting schooled in summer league.
Clark won't get any minutes. It will be Frye and Warrick off the bench with possibly some junk minutes for Mark Blount -----> although u could have used this for a guy like Joe Smith or Oberto...

First choice would be bring Lou back...second would be Etan Thomas and then Joe Smith
Need someone who can rebound or block shots, Blount SUCKS.

In an offseason of questionable signings, getting Mark Blount would be the proverbial "nail in the coffin". The guy sucks.horribly.the end.

Re: Lou Officially Gone. Mark Blount of Interest
You'd have to take Joe Smith over Blount??
Also, if Phoenix had re-signed Lou, would you rather him start over Turk at the 4? or keep Turk starting?

He's been out of the league for a year but he fits the system, so do alot of players though. As a fallback option maybe but as a main target? I don't know...

Re: Lou Officially Gone. Mark Blount of Interest
Oberto would be my first choice...
Nash, Dragic, Scottie
Rich, Duds
Turk, JC/Hill
Frye, Warrick/Lawal
Lopez, Oberto
eff it, live or die by the jumper is back
