Sessions traded to Cavs

Another possible PG solution off the hook. I don't know if Larry was interested in Sessions and if he ever tried calling Kahn about him, but it's all too late now. The Cavs wanted Sessions and they'll keep him.
So that leaves us with not so many options available, and they're all more complicated options.
Now, just a quick thinking, with the Grizzlies still working out a deal with Xavier Henry, maybe we could try offering them Rush? And reports say they're not comfortable with Conley as the starting point so maybe, just maybe, we could inquire about Conley?

Just caught this too. Seems like we could have matched that offer pretty easily. Ah well, perhaps there are other things in the works.

^^ Yeah, hopefully. We'll not be able to grab a starting PG via free agency, unless we settle for a stop-gap. trading is the only way to go.

There'll always be time, yes. But it would be too late, and i wonder who'll still be available for trading by that time. Worst case scenario would be signing or RE-SIGNING a cheap stop gap pg.

Ok, so if we resign Earl Watson, can we get by for a year with Watson, Price(when healthy) and Stephenson at pg?

Pacers must have never been that interested in Sessions. He's not a good shooter and I think they value that in a point guard. They may have seen AJ Price as a better prospect.

I think that works. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pacers liked Watson better than any of the journeymen type pgs that were available anyway.

TJ Ford is better than any PG out there now. Just keep him for the rest of the season.

Where the hell is Earl Watson when we need him! I'm ok with Rafer Alston at this point, it's starting to look like we aren't getting on.

Earl Watson is BAD. Only reason he started last season is because O'Brien don't like Ford.
He is a career back-up, too slow and can't play D, and took worse shots than everybody everybody says TJ does. DON'T BRING BACK EARL WATSON.

Thats the best solution yet. Lets face it, no matter who we have at pg no matter if we have troy murphy or not, we will not be a team capable of anything but .500 with JOB

We simply didn't have the non-guaranteed contract to immediately cut salary for Minnesota to make the deal.

After all their free agency maneuvers, they only have to sign one minimum salaried player to meet the league minimum salary requirement, which they will likely do. They will then likely spend the season taking on other teams luxury tax dumps for incentive (picks/young players).
