Lopez IS a significant post-up option, and would anchor that sopt and allow T2 to fly around doing his thing (defend, block shots, cut to the basket, step out and shoot). Frankly because of Lopez upside, I'd prefer that to Paul and Okafor. Mek is OK, but he's a 12 and 10 overpriced guy who's not my preference at the 5. He's better than what we've got now, but....

As for Paul, I'd love to get him, but I'm not convinced we can hang onto the Diva.

But here's my question: if we could trade Damp for Harris and Lopez, what does Jersey send to the Hornets for CP3 and Okafor other than Damp's contract? Favors? Well, you send him and Williams, plus maybe Farmar and Morrow, you don't have any team left around Paul and Okafor!

I don't know how it would work, maybe we could send New Orleans DJ and other players on behalf of New Jersey. I'm sorry, but the thought of having Brooke Lopez and Devin Harris is the BEST scenario of all the ones mentioned. Lopez is a young center who should be a all star in the near future, Harris is a all star PG, this team with these two players should contend with Miami for the eastern conference finals!

It would be terrible on offense, like two Ben Wallaces paired together. We already have trouble putting the ball in the hole...

Am I the only one that like the fact that TT can actually hit a 15ft jumper?

If CP3 is at the point, I think the 2 of them would be fine up front. Its not as if we'd be running sets for them anyway, they just need to clean up any mess around the rim.

Okafor was pretty non existent on offense last season while playing next to Paul. Why would that change here?

Totally agree. All we need is CP3...

Okafor had some lingering issue in training camp and only played with Paul 45 times, I definitely think the chemistry could improve unless they just don't like each other.

Tyrus has been on a frontcourt consisting of he and Noah (who has no post game whatsoever) and one with Theo, neither of which was bad either. TT and Okafor isn't the best scoring frontcourt but it isn't horrible either. They'll defend well, rebound and run. It wouldn't be as bad as you make it seem.

That was a bit simplistic but you get the point. But I do believe that Noah has a (slight) edge on offense over Okafor. Last season he hit the mid range J with flashes of consistency. I think TT-Theo works well as a backup frontcourt when you try to make stops in the paint to get back into a game but that's about it. Best combination is TT or meka with an offensive contributor, think Sheed/Ben

You guys act like Thomas is Diop on offense. I mean c'mon, give the man his credit. When he came to us last season he had a really good mid-range shot, and he got his buckets. I think as a starter he could average 12-15 ppg, and he is the type of PF you need next to Okafor. Thomas does not need to be int he lane to score because of his mid-range game. That is really one of the reasons i am so excited to see him start next year.

Your talking about Noah's improved offense from this past season, I'm talking about the pre playoff 2008-2009 Noah when he was just getting real playing time, by then tyrus was already emerging as a good player for the team, yet neither of them had a real developed post game. Noah then was a rebounder, shot blocker and that's it. After he had the good playoff series vs Boston the Bulls front office decided to invest in his development. My point is, TT and Okafor aren't great post scorers, but I think they won't be so bad together where it's completely unbearable to watch. Okafor can't be as bad as that bum Josh Boone, now that guy sucks!

Slightly better then a Tyrus, Diop combo  Great if it's your second unit. Not so great if your team doesn't have any other post options.

How good would it be? Fantastic.

If by extension that means Chris Paul is our PG.

As a combo, Okafor and Tyrus are an upgrade over anything we've had to date. Playing the numbers, Mek is a 13 and 10 guy, steady, unspectacular, overpaid, all that, but he would still be rated among the better 5's in the east. Tyrus has more to prove, but his athleticism would blend well with Mek, while his shooting (if more consistent with the playing time and starting role), defense, rebounding, shot blocking and energy support a better frontcourt combo than Diaw and Chandler/Nazr.

Okafor was AWFUL on defense last season. NOH was one of the worst interior defensive teams in the league last season. Combine that with his terrible offensive skills, God awful contract and unwillingness to be coached, is the reason why nobody wants him unless he's packaged with a superstar.

Not that good cause they both can't make shots outside, easy to defend.
TT's D is over-rated but they are B+ defensively.

Hmm,not so good yeah,"awful",a bit of a stretch. Not to mention Scott was fired a third into the season, who was then replaced by a guy who had no experience as a head coach in his life.
So yeah the Hornets dropped off defensively, but their opponents only scored a mere .89 points per 100 possessions more, with Okafor on the floor. In contrast, when Okafor was in Charlotte, opponents scored 4 points less per 100 possesions when he was on the floor.
Coaching obviously makes a difference here,an area you've failed to realise obviously, in your post.
As for TT,you might want to do some research on that as well.
Good luck and Goodnight :D

Really? So by your logic "100 possessions" means one game? Do both teams clear the floor once that happens? Is the game over?

Get outta here with these stats that tell us nothing.
