I agree, and it'd be an issue with LeBamboozle, which is a nice mindf***
But doesn't he have outstanding weapons posession to deal with, and would he and Artest coexist or explode like a bad chemistry project?

His issues are mainly off-court and he's been portrayed as a solid team, locker room guy. Oh, and that little thing with the 6'5 250 lady...

Paying Miller 5 million when he's 35,36 is pretty much just as bad as paying Luke or Sasha.

luke and sasha would never be as good as 38 year old mike miller in their primes/peak.

Lakers send Sasha Vubitch , Luke walton (with cash for buyout ) a future 1st pick for Jose Caledron ... The raptors do this because of cap space and the 1st round pick. Also because the raptors lost bosh for almost nothing to the heat The lakers do this to make the heat pay . Jose can play both positions in the triangle and is a great pg.

Due to L.A. Lakers and Toronto being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers and Toronto had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Why do we want to do this because we already have two PG's already so no.

Some people just like names more than fits. It obviously makes so much sense to have a guy making 8m as ur 3rd PG.

Raja Bell...gone
Matt Barnes...gone

Where do we go from hear to fill the backup SG spot? Pesonally I thought we could upgrade from Shannon but I'm not so sure anymore with whats avilable. As intriguing as T-Mac would be playing with Kobe I don't think he fits nor would he accept the minimum we can offer him.

Rasual Butler?
Thank you, Phil.

Shannon will essentially upgrade himself if he worked out this off-season.

Just was playing around on Trade Checker.

I found it extremely interesting that this deal works ...

Rip Hamilton (2 years)

for

Sasha (expiring) and Luke Walton (2 years)

It seems to me that Rip is no longer wanted in Detroit (they would cut his salary in a heartbeat) and, more importantly, that Rip might very well be a fantastic PG in the triangle offense. He feels very much like Ron Harper from an offensive and defensive perspective.

Anyway, just an idea ... albeit an idea that I love.

Yeah no way Sasha's expiring is enough especially when Luke would most likely have very limited impact. They would be better off with Rip for the remainder of his contract. As for us Rip would be solid especially if he was brought off the bench. He would be a nice fit alongside Blake and Odom and it gives Kobe rest.

I would hang on to sasha for now. his value could go up along the season where teams that are sucking would look to cut down salaries. plus it's contract year he might return to "the machine" form.

IF Walton retires and we do bring on Barnes, I say we also throw vet min. at Steve Novak......great 3pt shooter even on a crap team like the clippers who hardly get him good looks he still managed a better 3pt% then Sasha.

Walton isn't retiring there has been no talk of him retiring. If Barnes signs the next player the Lakers go after will be vet PF/C and that will probably be the Lakers last move of summer outside of adding some bodies for training camp and preseason.

Fernandez or Brown

Post#998 » by General Manager » Tue Jul 27, 2010 5:17 pm

With Portland willing to trade Rudy Fernandez, do you think they would be willing to do a sign and trade with us for Shannon? For portland, it would give them an athletics guard who can backup Roy and for us it would just give us another shooter. I would love this idea. yes we do have sasha but fernandez can just flat out shoot. You can never have enough shooters. So my question is...do you think this is something portland would consider doing? would you want this to happen or would you rather just re-sign shannon?

Not sure about Portland's willingness to do a S&t with us but I would definetly prefer Fernandez over Brown

Yeah, I'd prefer Fernandez over Brown as well. But I never like to have trades involving conference or division rivals.

On another note, Pau would probably like having another Spaniard on the team :)
