big ? is whether NO takes on Brand. IMO for NO Brand > Okafor, a year shorter contract on a better offensive player. they are also taking on 6 extra mill in salary this year. is all this worth it for Iggy?
They don't lose Collison and I think Paul would like to play with Iggy

Philly I think does this, they move Brand and Williams at the cost of taking on Jose and moving Iggy but with Turner this opens up mins at the 2 and cuts salary starting next year. Also Jose and Holiday would be an interesting 1/2

I think the Raps do this, they get an athletic SF, a young scoring PG who would thrive in an up tempo style, they get a defensive C. They move Jose and don't use either TPE

This is such a crazy deal it might actually be worth looking into. Although I think that exact trade would be flat out horrible for Philly, even tho they gain alot of expirings, the basis of the trade makes sense. Let's modify this now and see what a better possibility would be:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2cpdp5w

Toronto Receives: Lou Williams, Thaddeus Young, Emeka Okafor
Philadephia Receives: Peja Stojakovic, Jose Calderon, 2.9M TE, Raptors 2012 1st, Hornets 2012 1st
New Orleans Receives: Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, 11.5M TE

Toronto needs to throw away their TE here, since this can be the end of moves for awhile, and New Orleans needs incentive to take on 2 monster contracts, given they are a team trying to lessen their financial burden. They give away their most lucrative expiring and a bad contract, but gain 2 better players in the process. Philly is really getting the short end of the stick here, but they gain a true PG, an attractive expiring, and some picks and major salary relief. This is a strict yes or no desicion based on the direction they are going (full rebuild).

It leaves us with a pretty impressive team:

Williams/Jack/Banks
Derozan/Barbosa
Young/Weems/Kleiza
Bargnani/Kleiza/Davis
Okafor/Johnson/Alabi

Minute distribution:

Williams[25]/Jack[23]
Derozan[25]/Barbosa[18]/Weems[5]
Young[27]/Weems[13]/Kleiza[8]
Bargnani[8]/Kleiza[10]/Johnson[18]/Davis[12]
Okafor[22]/Bargnani[24]/Johnson[2]

say we end up getting Amundson.

It means Evans needs to go and likely Calderon too. So what do we do? Baron Davis? Hes uptempo... do we take him?

Same length as Calderon just maybe a better fit. Calderon + Evans for Davis?

or my dream is

Flynn for Calderon + Evans (or Belinelli (more likely)) + Cash + MIA 2011 1st Round Pick.

This puts the Wolves at the minimum level of salary for 2010/2011 season. They get someone to bring Rubio over and Flynn is out for 3 months anyway. They get a 1st round pick and cash to cover most of Evans salary.

Calderon / Ridnour / Telfaire
Johnson / Ellington
Webster / Brewer
Love / Beasley / Evans
Darko / Perkovic

not bad.

for us Flynn is the perfect uptempo young guard for us and he would fit with the youngunz.

Flynn / Jack
Derozan / Barbosa
Klezia / Weems
Johnson / Davis
Bargnani / Amundson

pretty nice lineup.

Breakdown:

Jose Calderon $9,000,000
Reggie Evans $5,080,000 OR Marco Belinelli $2,380,270
* Miami 2011 1st Round Pick
* Cash (covers Belinellis salary)

Jonny Flynn $3,192,000

10,888,000 is the amount of salary they take on. Why? To meet minimum requirements. They will waive West, they traded Jefferson for nothing. The minimum is 43.5. So it gets them there.

* Belinelli makes more sense in this deal

we would then trade Evans for a SG/SF

yep they did. They also just traded Sessions and are going to waive West and need to meet minimum salary requirements of the NBA which is 43.5 million this year. So they need to take on salary just to meet the minimum.

as i said in my Edit.

Jose Calderon $9,000,000
Marco Belinelli $2,380,270
* Miami 2011 1st Round Pick
* Cash (covers Belinelli salary)

for

Jonny Flynn $3,192,000

= 8,188,270 that they take on. 3 million of that comes paid via the cash so its 5 million that they actually pay.

all this would put them at 41,630,937 (Darko, Beasley, Johnsons salary, Calderons extra, Sessions/West trade with West being waived) so they need about 2 million to meet the minimum. So they sign Perkovic their second rounder for x amount of dollars over 2 million and they meet the minimum. That + Ridnours contract puts them over the minimum amount, Belinelli doesnt even need to be included. You could just do.

Calderon
MIA pick
Cash

for

Flynn

this is all a dream of course but its the wolves your talking about who A) Make dumb moves all the time and B) love PGs

The Grizzlies are merely lukewarm about Mike Conley's future as their starting point guard.

However, Memphis is only going to supplant Conley if they acquire an obvious improvement.

They reportedly made a play for Chris Paul prior to the draft and they selected Greivis Vasquez at the end of last month.

Mike Conley, Hamed Haddadi and one of DeMarre Carroll or Arthur or Young for Jose Calderon and Joey Dorsey

I don't know if I'm willing to take on Okafor's contract without Collison back. Maybe flip Lou to NO and we get Collison, and we throw in our 2011 1st to NO (I think Collison will be a better PG then what we can get in the 6-10 spot in that draft).

i obviously do your version however what i was thinking was. Two other ideas.

1)

Toronto Sends:
Jose Calderon $9,000,000 (9,900,000 after TK)
* Cash Considerations (3 million)
* Rights to Miamis 2011 1st Round Pick

Memphis Sends:
Mike Conley $4,913,007
Hasheem Thabeet $4,793,280

or

2)

To Toronto: Conley $4,913,007 + Thabeet $4,793,280 + Walton $5,260,000
To Memphis: Calderon $9,000,000 + Cash + MIA pick + LAL pick + NYK 2nd
To Los Angeles: Evans $5,080,000

the bad contract can be someone like Walton/Posey and they add a incentive for giving them an expiring. LAL could add their 2011 pick + the NYK 2nd round pick or something like that.

Jack / Conley / Banks
Derozan / Barbosa / Belinelli
Klezia / Weems / Walton
Davis / Johnson / Dorsey
Bargnani / Thabeet / Alabi

For Toronto i mean Walton ends the same time as Calderon but we get Conley + Thabeet for that so its really worth it to me. Wed be a young uptempo team with Conley at PG and Thabeet can rebound and bock shots and is still really young.

Calderon
Mayo
Gay
Randolph
Gasol

they get 2 picks for Thabeet basically and getting Calderon may make Gasol more inclined to stay a Grizzle. I also think hes the perffect compliment to Mayo.

Fisher / Blake
Bryant / Brown / Sasha
Artest / Barnes / Ebanks
Gasol / Odom / Evans
Bynum / Ratliff

something like that could work for everyone.

That would work for me but I think they would hold on to Thabeet. Disappointing rookie season but he was their 2nd overall pick. I don't think they give up on him this early.

would you give up the MIA pick and take Walton in order to get Conley? I dont think MEM would pass on getting 2 late 1sts + Calderon for Conley but i dont know if i would take Walton, give up a 1st just to get Conley.

I'd take back Walton and give the up MIA pick if we're also getting back Thabeet. I think Memphis would just end up selling those 2 late firsts if they get them. Not sure if I would take back Walton and give up the pick for just Conley.

lol same.

maybe a deal of.

Calderon
Cash (3 million covers difference)

for

Conley

would work for everyone, maybe you throw in the MIA pick and use Evans to get a Center.

Well that wouldn't work because they are over the cap now so fillers would be required ie Hamed Haddadi and one of DeMarre Carroll or Darrell Arthur or Sam Young. I think the Grizzlies would value the 3M in cash more than the MIA 1st.

I'm going by the ShamSports figure. It has them at $60,460,553.

i still think this makes the most sense.

To Toronto:
Mike Dunleavy $10,561,984
Jeff Foster $6,655,000
= 17,306,984

To Indiana:
Jose Calderon $9,000,000
Reggie Evans $5,080,000
* Trade Exception (3,226,984)
= 14,080,000

IND gets further away from tax.

Jack / Barbosa / Banks
Derozan / Weems / Belinelli
Klezia / Dunleavy
Davis / Johnson / Dorsey
Bargnani / Foster / Alabi

so so for next year but wed have 24 million in committed salaries. Id start by offering Horford a very high offer that ATL wouldnt match. Or Marc Gasol, Noah, Oden ect.

2011 i draft a PG (Knight, Joesph, Irving, ect)
- offer huge contract to Horford (option 1, max?) / Gasol (option 2) / Oden (option 3)

Knight / Jack
Derozan / Barbosa
Klezia / Weems
Bargnani / Davis
Horford / Johnson

not bad.
