Raps should take a look at Joe alexander

Post#1 » by mieshpal » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:36 pm

why don't the raps take a shot at joe alexander, the guy was drafted 8th overall in 08 and has been plagued with injuries. BC could probably sign him at a low cost imo im glad the barnes deal didn't go through...raps need to develop the young guns weems, derozan, amir,ed and even bargs gots room to grow...I would love to see alexander get signed by the raps though, the kid had alot of upside coming out of college.

You can only take a shot on so many young players. Its no point having so many players such that it restricts the minutes of all to develop.

Lol he is probably the only top 10 pick to not have his team option picked up after his first year.

He's a larger/slower version of DeRozan.

Just because he is white and athletic does not mean he is any good.

For the min, non-guaranteed? Sure, who cares. We need another SF. Seems like a BC-type flier, zero risk, possible reward. That highlight doesn't hurt him, great effort when most would've conceded the dunk.

Kid had a great tourney for virginia and with his athleticism it suckered a few teams into looking at him in the lottery even though he was nowhere near that throughout the NCAA season.

I'm not sure if he's NBA material (yet).

Won't hurt to look at him. I doubt he's going to be signed though. He would have to blow them away.

Unless he's a back up plan in case Amundson doesn't come here. You might hope Alexander can play a hustle role and knock down an open jumper. He's a lottery pick and is probably better than Adam Morrison imo.

See it for what it is. No need to hate, imo.

Nah, I wouldnt really like a Player here who would rather spend his time putting his balls on Mop Girl than through the Hoop.

Do we always have to write a thread about players that B.C would never think about?

For what it's worth, mots of this board was clamouring for Joe Alexander back when he entered the draft.

This is EXACTLY the type of player BC would think about, a young castoff with athleticism. He's even half-not-american.

I follow the Bucks a little and apparently Alexander displayed...

little to no interest in improving his bball skills, was more interested in scoring the cheerleaders, was once benched for airballing a dunk (??), sat out with injuries when he was cleared to go, didn't work on his body, has no true NBA position, didn't even play that well in college except for a couple of weeks in the tournament.. the list goes on.

Basically., his NBA ship might have already sailed. The Bucks gave up on him after half a season. Hell to the no.
