Apparently some real issues with him and he's not even that talented. He'd be a great volleyball player though.

Re: Raps should take a look at Joe alexander
He should've never gone as high as he did, but I still think he has the potential to be a player in this league. But I don't think he'll be able to accomplish it staying in the NBA and being glued to the bench. Give him two years in Europe and he'd be a role player in the NBA.

little to no interest in improving his bball skills, was more interested in scoring the cheerleaders, was once benched for airballing a dunk (??), sat out with injuries when he was cleared to go, didn't work on his body, has no true NBA position, didn't even play that well in college except for a couple of weeks in the tournament.. the list goes on.
Basically., his NBA ship might have already sailed. The Bucks gave up on him after half a season. Hell to the no.
That's odd, he was known as a gym rat coming into the draft.

Wasn't his work ethic his main selling point? I remember reading all this garbage about him sleeping on the couch in the coach's room in college. I chalk it up to a great tournament, not so great skills and untimely injuries.

He had some injury issues during his stay with the Bucks. That may have hampered his development. His game was pretty raw but he was supposed to be known for his athleticism and toughness.

I'm not sure if he's NBA material (yet).

It's one thing to grind towards your NBA goal in a pretty protected college atmosphere where you are the man on campus, another to keep grinding in an adverse situation where you come in as a hyped lottery pick and than find yourself looking in from the outside and maybe simple is in over your head talent wise. Add 5 million dollar guaranteed and some entitled attitude and it could probably derail a lot of people. Sports are filled with stories of guys who were big starts a junior level but flamed out quickly as senior pro's.
The simplest explanation is probably though that he's simply not good enough talent wise to cut it in the league.

Re: Raps should take a look at Joe alexander
Skiles obviously thought he was a 'Skiles kinda guy' coming in, and Bucks fans were pretty excited about his work ethic as well - for whatever reason it turned out competely the opposite. I remember reading about assistant coaches cussing him out for mostly standing around doing nothing while everyone else was practicing, about him being told to stay away from the cheerleaders etc
Apparently Skiles disliked him so much he wouldn't even give him a chance to get on the court. So yeah. Send him to Europe to 'mature', i guess. His dunks were crazy.

If possible, I would invite him to camp to take a look.

He IS Joey Graham, only the same age Graham was when drafted and 2 inches taller.

haha i dunno! I was reading a Bucks game thread awhile back to see how Bogut was doing and the entire thread was derailed by laughter at Alexander's air dunk attempt and benching. I wish I had seen it myself.
EDIT: i think it was seen as somewhat of a defining moment in Alexanders history as a Buck.

As a Bucks fan, trust me when I say you don't want Joe Alexander. That guy's description is pretty much spot on, he's the epitome of fail.
