Lakers Shopping Vujacic to Shed His Salary

(Offered Sasha + 1st Rounder For Delonte West)

Windhorst:
Sources said Lakers are trying to trade Sasha Vujacic wfirst round pick to get his salary off books. They tried to do it for Delonte West. If they move Vujacic, and there's a decent chance they will, Brown will likely be back in LA.

Are there any other players left that have contracts like Delonte's that could waived quickly.

There is no way West is worth a 1st round pick especially with his problems.

It's contract year for Sasha.

If he plays like he did in 07-08, we are winning the tittle.

Source is Brian Windhorst. He has some pretty good sources regarding the Cavs.

i really think the only way he can fulfill the promise is if he sells his team and gets a front office job for the lakers! :P

This had to be over the weekend. For those who didn't hear, West was traded Monday. Doubt Minny wants the Sasha package.

Windhorst is reputable compared to many reporters / personalities.

For the right price, someone can have sasha. I just do not want to give him up for nothing.

I actually think sasha is better than Shannon brown. He's a way better shooter than shannon. They both have horrible shot selection outside of what kobe spoon feeds them. Shannon just doesn't hustle enough despite all his physical gifts. Sasha gives 200% every second he's on the floor.

Also another thing that's is overlooked with sasha is that when he gets consistent minutes he is significantly better. It's hard for him to get any sort of rhythm when he only plays a couple minutes at a time. Even then he still smokes Shannon in 3pt percentage. I'd much rather have sasha get consistent minutes than sign brown, Hughes, or mcgrady. It's more so about getting consistent minutes rather than being in a contract year for sasha.

I think Brown's a far better defender than Sasha. And Sasha got plenty of minutes in 08-09 and still had a sub .400 FG %

Plus the money saved? Give me Brown over him all day.

We need to package Sasha's expiring contract & some picks for something that can help us. We don't need to be giving talent away at this point-- we're trying to win it this year!

Now, if the act of trading Sasha is in direct relation to the possibility of signing Brown, then maybe Mitch doesn't have a choice. I think Brown's athleticism is important to the team, but I don't want to give talent away.

Sashas contract trumps whatever he can provide on the court if he's gone the Lakers payroll goes from probably around 94m if Brown is resigned to 89m with Brown.
