1. Magic Johnson
2. Kobe Bryant
3. James Worthy
4. Shaquille O'Neal
5. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

I have Kareem ranked so low because I saw too little of him in my youth. I saw far more Magic and Worthy so they rank pretty high on my list. Of course, I've seen Kobe's entire career so he's up there behind Magic. While I can't stand Shaq these days, I remember quite well how enjoyable it was to watch him dominate everyone's ass when he wore P&G.

HM's for Cooper, Green, and Scott. Loved those guys as well.

1. Johnson. I will never enjoy watching a player as much as I did him. Textbook example of his greatness: Game 6, 82 Finals, 13 points, 13 rebs and 15 assists on THREE shots. That's game.

2. O'Neal. Yeah, he went out like a clown, and had his frustrating moments while he was here. But I absolutely watched him straight wreck the league for a decade.

3. Abdul-Jabbar. I only caught him near the back end of his career, well past his prime, but his record speaks for itself. Probably the second-best player in history.

4. Worthy. All business, no frills. Stylish without being flashy, which is a hard thing to pull off. One hard dribble and a swooping tomohawk finger roll at the rim -- beautiful.

5. Gasol. Isn't half the player Kobe is, I simply enjoy watching him play. If he hasn't earned permanent respect from our fan base after Games 6 and 7, he never will.

It's easy -- overpaid, rarely plays, and usually plays poorly in the rare instances he's healthy.

So true. As a Laker fan I feel for the guy but I don't think being a nice guy qualifies one to take up a spot needed for another guy who can contribute.

Do we have to put down players we've seen? Because I really want to put down Wilt Chamberlain, but I've never watched him live.

Kareem, just the best center I had the pleasure to watch playing. Did fun movies also.
Magic, hell it was fun!
Kobe. A winner, in a MJ way.
Shaq. Dominant. Did movies bad as hell.
Gasol. Finesse player with cojones if they're needed... and is Spaniard as me :)

But also too:

Rambis. He would kick any ass on the league today.
A.C. Same as the one above. I almost forgive him for playing on the bloody Spurs.
McAdoo He was a real talent. See the shadow of him playing here in Europe. Still was great.
Worthy. Love the 80' Lakers... it would be clear by now.
Fisher. Heart, something many players lack today.

5 Favorite Lakers, shouldn't matter whether or not you've seen them play live, but as long as you have a good reason, I guess.

You can't judge a player off of highlights alone. You don't know their true strengths, weakness, & intangibles. You can take highlights of any good player & make them look great. That is why you need to have seem them play.

Got introduced to Basketball in 2002 so these guys are kinda new school.

1. Kobe- no explaination needed...but I'll give one anyways. His individual skill set is just amazing...and knowing that he put hours after hours to do every little thing that he does makes it more amazing. Hated the "me againts the world " stage...even though it was amazing to see one guy try to take on 5. I feel like we saw him grow infront of us as a player, even though he was already a superstar in 2002. Also..can't say enough about the ability to take and make big shots

2. Trevor Ariza- The perfect role player...obviously some of his skills were far from perfect, but the willingness to play D, clutch offensive and defensive players, overall humbleness and personality, and crazy amount of effort. I love Ron, I think we are a better team with him because he is a better player, but Trevor was on my favorites

3. Shaq- I was a fan for the last 2 titles, and shaq and kobe were always 1a 1b to me in regards of whose team it is and who my favorite player was. I had a time period where my anger for us losing and his immaturity and in some ways his success made me hate him, but now looking back at it was for the best. His skills + force was amazing to see, and sometimes I catch myself looking at highlights on youtube just because i never really appreciated it back in the days. Sure he burned some bridges...kinda immature but i hope he has his jersey retired by us one day.

4. Andrew Bynum- This is a weird choice for me, but andrews growth is probably what makes him such a favorite of mine. Its the simple fact that we drafted him after a terrible season, when things have never looked worse. We saw him show flashes his first year, and even more flashes in his second. A little arrogant, but he's proved that hes a hard worker. I remember the begginign of the 08 season when he was an absolout beast, and I remember having high hopes for that team even before pau. I remember how terrible i felt when he went down. With drew, it reminds me of those 3 terrible years, and how our entire hope was the 07 plan LOL and the improvement of a 18 year old who still hasn't shaved for the first time.

5. Honestly, this is a tie between lamar, ron and fish. I'm not going to get deep into it, but all three are extremely likable people in a personal level, have shown great effort most of the times (looking at you lamar), are great at their roles most of the times (looking at you Fish for the entire regualr season last year), and helped bring us rings.

Also, honorable mention, the great unstoppable talented handsome hardworking man we know as von wafer.
