Zach Randolph(EC) & Mike Conley(EC)
for
Troy Murphy(EC), TJ Ford(EC) and Solomon Jones(EC)
We upgrade the 4 and get our 1.
What could we add as incentive? Hansbrough or unprotected 2012 1st? What else could we add to try to get this deal done.
It obviously makes us better, we lose Randolph at the end of the season, try to resign Conley, get rid of TJ, Murphy, and add a roster spot.

Re: 2 Indiana boys in, 3 unwanteds out
Considering Zach's homes and all his assets were just raided in Indiana for possibly running one of the largest drug rings in Indiana, I highly doubt he'll ever play for the Pacers. Yeah, he was rehabbing his image in public, but apparently, in private, was building up a weapons cache and a drug selling operation.
I'd have to think that the Pacers would either have to swing Zach elsewhere immediately, or buy him out immediately. If there was even a suspicion that Zach would actually suit up for the Pacers, I think any and all good will the franchise bought with the general public would disintegrate, and they'd likely have to re-start their "good character" campaign all over again, and I don't think any of us basketball fans really want that.
Even then, I'd still do this just to get Conley and move out TJ and Solo.
However, "getting rid" of Murphy isn't necessarily a benefit. At least we'd have the option to play him and not have to buy him out. That's actually a negative to swap him for Randolph.
But alas, Memphis shouldn't consider this, unless they're planning on buying out Zach for his criminal issues as well. I wouldn't include Tyler or 1sts just to buy out Zach and possibly lose Conley in free agency either. Once again, better to ride it out and bid for the guys you want, rather than trade some of your few assets for guys you like entering free agency, see them leave for a myriad of reasons, and then end up with neither the PG you wanted, nor the only assets you actually had. That's the formula to end up with no roster and having to trade Danny in a year or two just to get a few assets, and thus have to sell him at a low price.

Re: 2 Indiana boys in, 3 unwanteds out
Murphy went to school up by you Windy, therefore he is at the very minimum an honorary Hoosier.
Obviously Conley's value is slipping to the point where it probably won't take too much to get him. However, proposing Zach Randolph here is a bad idea.
Since they want nothing to do with XHenry too, I'd like to find a way to have him come here. In about five seasons, after Danny's prime, George and Henry could be a formidable set of wings.
Rush for Henry and Foster for Conley +filler
Rush is Henry's contract nearing an end, which is important to Memphis because it is painfully obvious they do not want to pay his guaranteed salary. Foster imo, would be a nice addition next to Gasol, showing that ding-bat Thabeet how to play center. Remember Memphis was pretty good last year, and if they think Mayo and Vasquez are up to task, they might as well trade Conley out for a seasoned 2-guard and frontcourt depth.

If I ever see Zbo in a Pacer Uni I'll give up Baslketball and become a soccer fan!
I like Rush for Conley or Rush and Foster for Conley and Henry as long as they don't try to slip Zbo into the deal any where!

I think Zbo has made every team he's ever played for look bad at some point. No reason to think that would change here.
Rush for Conley makes sense for us but until Memphis gets a replacement for Conley (which we can't provide) it makes no sense for them.

Surely you aren't thinking that Rush is that "seasoned 2-guard". He's been in the league 2 seasons now and looks just as lost now as he did the first time he put on a Pacers uniform.

^^^ If that is the case than Rush & Conley are both seasoned. A change of scenery can help, sometimes.

Your right, chance of scenery can help sometimes, look at what J'O did here his first few years. It be worth a try bringing in Conely, it at least put people in the seats

I would barely do Rush for Conley. Conley is not a good starting PG IMO. 12-5 doesn't cut it.

Re: 2 Indiana boys in, 3 unwanteds out
I think 12 and 5 is acceptable.
He shoots a good percentage, still has some possible upside, and he would compliment our oversized point (Lance) well. Plays pretty good defense too.
And we need room at the 2 spot for Lance and George. I'd rather trade a Jones but I'd be happy to trade Rush for Mike.

I was saying that Rush ISN'T seasoned, and neither is Conley for that matter. Given that, Conley has still produced more than Rush has so far in his pro career and he's still 2 years younger than Rush.

Re: 2 Indiana boys in, 3 unwanteds out
BRush's D offsets Conley's bump in stats... atleast a little.
Conley is the type of player that I'd like to resign as a b/u point guard for the future, particularly if things didn't work out as a starter. He still has potential, but it looks like his future is going to be as a solid rotational player (ie. JJack). I think he'll play better once the pressure of being a top-four pick fades, and that means he'll probably need to leave Memphis.
