I'm not all that confident in the choice in the choice to be honest.

Gus does have the better stats - not just in this snippet, but generally - despite the fact that generally DJ is the more highly regarded player, in part because of his greatly respected defensive abilities. What I see here is both guys playing huge roles on a champion, both playing over their heads a bit, Gus having the better stats, but DJ still having good stats, better defense, and playing significantly more minutes.

The minutes played in the regular season is probably the best reason to not vote Gus. Then again, DJ only played 4 more minutes a night. It was a balanced rotation in Seattle. And while DJ certainly played well in the Finals and is a defensive beast (probably why he got votes), I just see Gus being better in RS, PS and Finals. DJ's ORtg was 103 - yikes! I don't see how his defense is making up for that, but maybe it is...?

Moses Malone makes his way into the top 10 by passing up both LeBron and KG. Other than that, no real changes outside of Dr J inching his way closer to the top 10. He's currently sitting at #14 behind David Robinson who he'll likely pass. It'll be interesting to see if he can pass LeBron for the #12 spot though. Kareem is sitting at #11 and will take the #10 spot from KG after the next round of voting is complete.
