There's New Arcade Fire? Haven't heard it yet. Sweet.

Dawes are one of the many things I thank Craig Ferguson for. Unfortunately, I've missed them in Madison not once, but twice. Hope to get to Austin City Limits this year and see them (among others). If you like them, TenthRow.com (AMAZING website) has an entire concert of theirs in high quality. It's worth checking out.

Can I not post more than one YouTube video? This is being bitchy. It deleted two videos and additional text from my original post....

Yeah, August 3rd I believe.

Most of the songs are out there one place or another and if I was as ambitious about finding music as I used to be I'm sure the album is leaked. Actually I know it is.

You're right, no Funeral is what I've heard, but BBC called The Suburbs their "OK Computer" (probably my favorite album ever) and you don't appreciate it until a few listens in. So I'll be hopeful about that one.

The first single was pretty bad in my mind (Month of May) but I do love this one:

By the way, I wasn't majorly a fan of "Month of May" their first single on first few listens because to me Arcade Fire has that different thing about them. I realize they are trying to be innovative, because that is what bands do, but I don't really think I'd like them if they went out and did mostly an album of "we're gonna send a driving rock song at you with not much emotion."

The whole point of Arcade Fire is the orchestral piece and the emotion. Win Butler's voice is actually not very good so if they try to strip things down on a regular basis, unless they do it really well, probably won't cut it for me. I believe most of their traveling orchestral section has been slowly leaving to do their own projects through the past years.

I've seen them twice, and obviously the Power Out -> Rebellion is one of the top live things to see to close out a show (I am assuming they aren't doing it as much anymore with newer stuff out now)

But I also do find this to be an amazing version. Gives you chills down your spine at points:

I do reserve the right to change my mind about some of Arcade's stripped-down tunes after a few times through the album.

Haven't read through the whole thread but IMO Drake's album is good without being great as some people are making out. Some solid tracks, I like him but not getting carried away.

Recovery is dope. Great album, probably 11 + songs on it I really like. Uses a lot of sampling and collaboration bu tI don't have a problem with that, some great songs on it and refreshing to see after his last two steaming piles (especially Relapse). A lot like the old Eminem except has a new sound / twist to it.

Thoughts on those two?

Okay, I'm getting scared to even listen to the new album. Quite the range of emotion here considering I learned about 15 minuted ago of new work.

I dunno. Neon Bible was no Funeral either, but it was still good, so I'll give this a shot.

This reminds me (Oh, Canada), has anyone heard the latest BSS? I got the album and have barely listened to it yet. Didn't like it off the bat as much as YFIIP, but it's not even fair to compare, TBH.

Like I said, I reserved the right to change my mind after listening to the new album.

Month of May is actually one of the worst songs on the album in my opinion. Effin love it overall though.

Got a darker feel like Joy Division or that sort of thing. They are truly great musicians.

Digging the hell out of the new Arcade Fire. Still enjoying the hell out of the new National. And, until the next Hold Steady album comes out, still playing Heaven is Whenever.

Downloaded The National CD. Sounds pretty damn good.
Also I wanted to get into something a little older. Some of you may be familiar with this guy from The Wire's theme song Way Down in the Hole. This is Warm Beer and Cold Women.

The thing that rules about Tom Waits is if you ask 10 different people for a top 5 of Tom Waits, you're likely to get a lot more variation in the selections.

I love The National. Like the newest BSS, I haven't given it enough attention yet, but I still have loved it regardless. The first single they released for their new album (Blood Buzz Ohio) really caught my ear. Apartment Story is one of my favorites.

Anyone listened to the new We Are Scientists yet?

God this album is awesome.

Maybe after the bees drop him off they could grab the resignation letter and locker keys off Redd since it's too far for him to travel?

LOL. Check out around the 1:40 area and see if you notice something cool.

Jim O'Rourke's Burt Bacharach cover album is pretty much my favourite right now.

Never saw this post with the video, nor had I seen the video. Nice. Also, definitely not unintentional
