Next RB on deck ........ Julius Jones
Where will Julius Jones end up ??
The only team I have heard to contact him was Detroit.
Anyone hear anything ???
I'm hoping he goes somewhere to start, he is on my keeper fantasy team as my 4th or 5th RB.
Thanks for the updates !!

I dont see why any team would sign him before the draft, there is not really any teams now that truly need a running back. Jones at best is going to be a backup and still wont see goal line carries. Factor in how deep this draft is for running backs, that just spells bad news for Jones and its owners.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

yup, Julius Jones has been mediocore for the past 3 years while running behind an impressive line. No team is going to sign him believeing he will be the #1 RB.Manhattan Project wrote:I dont see why any team would sign him before the draft, there is not really any teams now that truly need a running back. well whoever he signs with i wouldnt be enthused, he's pretty good in space, the problem is he's never in space. if you like rb's running into the back linemen's asses then he's great, or stuttering around in the backfield and then dives forward for a yard or 2.
part of the reason i think the cowboys got off to bad 1st quarter starts were b/c of him, he was always in the 1st 2 series and after barber came in thats what really made the offense go and made it exciting. the guy is just frustrating, i remember his 1st season or 2 everyone had such high hopes, but he blows he's pretty good on draw plays too.
2 teams he usually plays good against is carolina and seattle, the only 2 teams he owns. maybe the dolphins will look at him, not sure if parcells still likes him

Jones is a great depth back but no way in hell I'd want to give him 250+ carries as a feature.

Update:
He visited the Lions today and from what I'm told he has "completely unrealistic" expectations for both his value and his potential impact for the team. Which means he's a great fit for the 49ers or Jets, and that Matt Millen will probably sign him anyways...

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Seahawks | Team to meet with J. Jones

Clare Farnsworth, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports the Seattle Seahawks will meet with free-agent RB Julius Jones (Cowboys) Thursday, March 6.

THE NEWS
Julius Jones is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks today, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Our View
The Michael Turner signing in Atlanta, leaves Jones next in the pecking order for many teams including Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Detroit and now Seattle. If the organization were to sign Jones, the backfield suddenly becomes very crowded. Pure speculation, but it could lead to the end of Shaun Alexander as a Seahawk.

Sorry 'bout that, Lions fans... we from Seattle hate to steal them both out from under you. If we sign Jones, then we can add him to our impressive stable of mediocre running backs, alongside Duckett, Morris, Alexander and Weaver. Rumor has it we're going to draft Ray Rice, Mike Hart and Steve Slaton in the third, fourth and fifth rounds. Then we'll have the largest collection of players who can average between 3.5 and 4.0 yards per carry in the history of the league.

Jones signs with the Seahawks according to ESPN.
The Seahawks reached an agreement in principle Friday night with former Cowboys running back Julius Jones, the second running back move made by the team this week.
Jones agreed to a four-year deal worth around $3 million a year. The contract was similar to the five-year, $14 million contract reached with halfback T.J. Duckett earlier this week.
