Jose to Indiana, TJ to Houston and Battier+Jeffries to Toronto, along with NYKs first rounder?

It sheds another $6 mil of Houston's payroll, getting them under the tax threshold entirely, and gets them another point guard (that they seem to be looking for). TJ is from Texas and expires, so there is no added long term commitment. The Rockets would also generate a $6 mil TPE that can be used into next year's contract season.

For Indiana, they get a decent starting PG who would actually run a stable offense and feed Granger as much as they want. They have a ton of expirings after this season, so Jose's additional 2 years aren't as big a deal as they might be elsewhere.

Toronto takes on salary for one year, but both players are expirings, so it balances out with shedding Jose's 3 remaining years. The draft pick is the main result, which reduces the need for Toronto to suck in order to get high picks, as we'll have the high pick from NYK.

A Battier/Kleiza combo at SF is pretty good and a vet like Shane would fit really well on a young roster. He could be traded at the deadline to a team looking for a good wing defender to throw at Kobe, James, etc...

Andersen was recently traded and as a result he cannot be traded until Sep 28, 2010.

Sorry if this was posted before.. but what about the following:

Tor Receives: Gortat
Ind Receives: Calderon
Orl Receives: Dunleavy

this seems like it would benefit all the teams.. I am not sure if Indiana would jump at Calderon, but they need a point guard and have said they are willing to trade dunleavy, so I don't know how far off it is. A good SF to the magic would help them out and they don't really need Gortat with Howard camping in the lane all day. Toronto hopefully picks up some strong lane presence.

Trade 1:
Cannot be done until Sept 14th.
To Golden State-
Jose Calderon
Reggie Evans(exp)
Marcus Banks(exp)
Dwayne Jones(exp)
1st round pick(miami)

To Toronto-
Andris Beidrins
Vladamir Radmanovic(exp) filler

This trade probably works with just Beidrins and Calderon but GS gets 1 year rentals to fill out the roster and help.
Toronto gets their starting center.

Trade 2:
To Golden State
11 million TPE
To Toronto-
Monta Ellis

GS gts out of Ellis' contract who is now expendable with Curry and Calderon on board.
Toronto gets their young starting PG.

Raps Roster:

C- Beidrins/Anderson/Alabi
PF- Bargnani/A.Johnson/E.Davis
SF- Kleiza/Weems/Radmanovic
SG- Derozan/Barbosa/Belinelli
PG- Ellis/Jack/B.Brown

Toronto might waive Anderson to keep Dorsey or include either one in the trade.

To Toronto Trade ID #5652155
Dahntay Jones
Marcin Gortat

To Indiana
Jose Calderon
Mickael Pietrus

To Orlando
Troy Murphy

Toronto gets his center to move Bargs to 4

Indiana gets his new starting backcourt with Pietrus being a 3-point/lock down defender

Orl gets a big with 3 range, that can physically battle Celts bigs

Realistic trade I say!

just trade Jose for an expiring. (likely have to use the miami pick to do so): Calderon + Evans + Miami Pick for Dunleavy + Foster

- Sign Marc Gasol/Al Horford next summer (24 million committed next summer if Jose is traded) - 14 million? (brings us to 38) max contract for both. Gasol id go after because i dont think Memphis matches a max contract and hed enjoy it here.

- Draft Knight/Irving/Joesph at the PG spot (brings us to 41) - Joesph more likely because i dont think well be top 4 bad. We will probably be around 5-8.

- Sign Jeff Green (x amount of money (11 million?)) brings us to 52. If OKC will match Green go after Thad Young for a smaller amount (7-8 million)

- Re-sign Sonny Weems 3 million (brings us to 55 million)

- rest minimum players.

Joesph / Jack / PG (Brown or a vet PG)
Derozan / Barbosa
Green / Klezia / Weems
Bargnani / Davis / PF (minimum guy)
Gasol / Johnson / Alabi

that team is disgusting... easily a playoff team

imagine that team up in transition. Shot blocking, increased defense, bench scoring. Ah just wait till Joesph develops and i think wed be close to top in the East fighting Miami

the thing i like about that team is everyone WANTS to be HERE. Joesph is Canadian, Gasol is international and would love the city of Toronto however Green/the SF position would be the only one.

That team depends on 1-3 mainly derozan, but I think we can land knight or irving say we land 5-8, we could trade down maybe by taking on a bad contract but if we can't joseph is nice. That plan is the type I hope for as well though.

Portland trades:
Rudy

gets:
Miami pick, 2nd rounder from sacramento

Portland moves rudy, doesnt take on salary and gains a couple of picks.

Sacramento trades:
Garcia, Sammy D

gets:
Rudy, Evans, Anderson, Banks, TPE

Sacramento sheds a little salary immediately and adds a solid pairing for Tyreke in the backcourt.

Toronto trades:
Evans, Anderson, Banks, some TPE

gets:
Garcia and Sammy

Toronto adds a rebounding/shotblocking center and a toughguy on the wing

Jack/Jose/Beli
Demar/Barbosa/
Weems/Kleiza/Garcia
Bargs/Amir/Dorsey
Sammy/Amir/Alabi

Irving would be a damn dream. I like Joesph because i know hed love playing here but i also dont think wed be bad enough for that. Assume we do Calderon + Evans + Miami 1st for Dunleavy + Foster

Jack / Barbosa
Derozan / Weems
Klezia / Dunleavy
Bargnani / Davis
Foster / Johnson

i dont see that team doing all that terrible. I think Joesph would be more in our range.

How about a Marco Belinelli for Corey Brewer swap?

Brewer strikes me as the quinessential SF for BC's system. Excellent defender, with the ability to guard multiple positions. He's 6'9'', long, a little goofy with his handle, but a good roleplaying 3 nonetheless. He's a good kid, too, that has versatility in terms of his potential role on a team; he could come off the bench a la James Posey or start a la Bruce Bowen.

If we can get Gasol as a free agent along with one of the PGs in the draft (Knight, Joseph, Irving), we'd be sitting pretty. While adding someone like Jeff Green would really help to round out the team. I would definitely be excited about this lineup:

pg - Irving or Joseph - Jack
sg - DeRozan - Barbosa - Weems
sf - Green - Kleiza - Weems
pf - Bargnani - Davis
ce - Gasol - Amir - Alabi

would IND do this?

To Toronto: Dahntay Jones + Mike Dunleavy + Jeff Foster
To Indiana: Jose Calderon + Reggie Evans + Marco Belinelli + 3.1 million TE created

* gives us max cap room to offer Horford a max deal, if they wanted id give them the Miami pick

* During the draft i offer Jones + Miami 1st (if it isnt used in the IND deal) for a TE

they dump Jones 2.7 million for an expiring lowering the cost of Calderon next year. It would bring Calderons contract down to 7 million next season that counts towards their cap giving them 31 million in committed.

Jack / Barbosa / Banks
Derozan / Weems / Jones
Klezia / Dunleavy
Bargnani / Davis / Andersen
Foster / Johnson / Alabi

Calderon / Ford / Price
Rush / Belinelli / Stephanson
Granger / George
Hansbrough / Mcroberts / Evans
Murphy / Hibbert / Jones

works for everyone no? Jones can add some defense to the lineup.

in 2011 our team would be.

- Offer Al Horford/Marc Gasol max deal
- Draft Joesph because i think we wont be THAT bad
- Trade Barbosa expiring for a SF

Joesph / Jack
Derozan / Weems
SF / Klezia
Horford / Davis
Bargnani / Johnson / Alabi

Joesph / Jack
Derozan / Weems
SF / Klezia
Bargnani / Davis
Gasol / Johnson / Alabi

So i'm trying to find teams with guys who are expiring 2012 and can be had for Jose.

To Philly: Jose + Belinelli To Toronto: Willie Green + Nocioni

Noc has a team option for 12/13, so he's essentially a two year expiring.

To Dallas: Jose To Toronto: Jason Terry

This won is unlikely because Dallas has Kidd/Beoubeious. But then again, they have ran a 2 PG line up with Kidd playing the 2 so who knows. Terry could be bought out and his contract is partial gurantee I think for 11/12.

To Cleveland: Jose + Reggie Evans To Toronto: Antwan Jamison

This one is one of those one step backwards, 2 steps forward moves. Jamison is a pretty good leader so he could help in our rebuild project. We give up Reggie's expiring but we save a year on Jose's deal. The only caveat is that Cleveland won't do it unless they find a home for Moe Williams.

This one is a conditional deal:

To GSW: Jose + Miami pick to Toronto: Charlie Bell + Radmanovic

We give up a little incentive and take on extra salary. This deal is on the condition that GSW finds a new home for Ellis or else its definatey a no go.

To ATL: Jose to Toronto: Mike Bibby + Maurice Evans + 1.5 mill cash

Basically, ATL gets the younger version of 33? year old Bibby. Shoot the ball and distribute and who knows, Jose could work marvels for there ugly half court offense. With JSmoove and Horford and JJ on the team, Jose deficiencies are covered up nicely. We buy out Evans, so he can return to ATL for the minimum.

i was thinking of

Calderon + Evans + Miami 1st for Nocioni + Williams. I mean theyd have no place for Lou Williams if Calderon is there. Only thing is Nocioni cant be packaged so it would need to be a 2 part deal (Calderon for Noce, Evans + 1st for Williams)

Lou's contracts runs till 2013 (well 12/13 is a player option) while green is expiring this year.

what about

To Toronto: Miller + Pryzbilla + Stevenson
To Dallas: Belinelli + Evans
To Portland: Calderon + Berea + Miami 1st + 4 million TE

Toronto gets expiring contracts for Calderon, Miller + Pryzbilla also help us be better next year

Dallas gets a backup PF + young SG

Portland gets OUT OF LUXURY TAX. Get a 1st, a better fit next to Roy in Calderon and would trade Fernandez for a PF

Miller / Jack / Banks
Derozan / Barbosa / Stevenson
Klezia / Weems
Bargnani / Davis / Andersen
Pryzbilla / Johnson / Alabi

thats a team that can RUN and play defense and could make the 8th seed.

I dont think Paul Allen minds paying the luxury tax. Also, can't see Portland trading Andre Miller for Jose. Andre played a lot better last year, and has a good contract (even 2011/2012 is unguranteed).

Of the potenial Calderon swaps, Timdunkits ideas of Philly and Atlanta may have some potential. Perhaps a little additional financial incentive for Atlanta could lead to consummating that trade.

big trade for fun:

NO trades:
Okafor, Collison

gets:
TPE, Ed Davis

NO adds a solid young prospect for trading a solid young prospect. tpe is purely financial releif for Okafor.

Atlanta trades:
Bibby, Zaza

gets:
Jack, Anderson

Atlanta adds a pg who should fit well beside JJ and Anderson is cheaper backup bigman saving them some money on Zaza's 3 years.

Detroit trades:
Prince

gets:
Bibby, Evans, Weems or Miami first

Detroit makes room for Daye and Jerebko at the sf spot and gains a good pg to run things there. Evans maintains some expirings and either Weems or the pick adds some more youth.

Toronto trades:
TPE, Jack, Davis, Evans, Anderson, Miami first or Weems

gets:
Collison, Okafor, Prince, Zaza

Toronto adds youth, Defense and shotblocking/rebounding

Collison/Jose/Banks
Demar/Barbosa/Beli
Prince/Kleiza
Bargs/Amir/Dorsey
Okafor/Zaza/Alabi

this will never hapen but how about belinelli and calderon for iggy. That way we can get rid of calderon and have jack as pg with brown as back up if we sign him. Also we will be geting a good all around player in iggy and we will have kleiza as back up sf.

Return to Toronto Raptors
