Jose to Indiana, TJ to Houston and Battier+Jeffries to Toronto, along with NYKs first rounder?
It sheds another $6 mil of Houston's payroll, getting them under the tax threshold entirely, and gets them another point guard (that they seem to be looking for). TJ is from Texas and expires, so there is no added long term commitment. The Rockets would also generate a $6 mil TPE that can be used into next year's contract season.
For Indiana, they get a decent starting PG who would actually run a stable offense and feed Granger as much as they want. They have a ton of expirings after this season, so Jose's additional 2 years aren't as big a deal as they might be elsewhere.
Toronto takes on salary for one year, but both players are expirings, so it balances out with shedding Jose's 3 remaining years. The draft pick is the main result, which reduces the need for Toronto to suck in order to get high picks, as we'll have the high pick from NYK.
A Battier/Kleiza combo at SF is pretty good and a vet like Shane would fit really well on a young roster. He could be traded at the deadline to a team looking for a good wing defender to throw at Kobe, James, etc...
Houston says next time use lube....
