I think Orlando has a real shot this year strictly based on the fact that Boston is a year older and not a year better. And don;t count out the Bulls as somewhat of a dark horse. The addition of Boozer and Korver is nice for them.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the Celtics made the Finals again. They started 23-5 last season before injuries started affecting them. Yeah, they are old, but as a team they are tough as nails and know how to win. If Doc can manage their minutes properly in the RS and they stay healthy, they are the team to beat in the East, without question.

The addition of JO is probably also a bit underrated. He's still effective and will be a very good replacement for Perkins until he returns. Once Perkins gets back they will have a really good big man rotation of KG/JO/Perkins/BBD.

Then they have Rondo, Pierce, and Allen, all of which command respect and play well together, so all-in-all I think they probably have one of the most balanced teams in the league.

RE: Bulls

I agree that they are a dark horse team. There is no question in my mind that they will be a top 4 seed, but their overall lack of experience is going to hurt them as they get deeper in the playoffs. They'll make some noise, but I don't think they'll reach the Finals.

Either Heat or Celtics, slim chance for magic and bulls.

Orlando will be hungry next year and Boston if healthy will probably be the favorite.

But damn would it be great to beat LBJ and Wade in the Finals.
Thank you, Phil.

Bulls fan chiming in, the Heat is overrated. That team is not built for a deep run. They will be lucky if they can come out of the East.Look at the roster for yourselves. Someone said you have to have experience to get to the finals. In 2009,did Orlando have experience when it went to the finals? Did Boston have experience when it won the chip in 2008?? Anyways, the Heat will have to get thru some tough teams. They may sweep their first round fodder, but after that and if they do get to the finals.they will be easy pickings for the Lakers. If they face either the Bulls,Orlando.or Boston they would be facing physical defensive teams. In the end,the Heat physically will be worn and mentally they will be shot.

Also, of the East teams, Doc Rivers is probably the best coach...
Yes, better than Riley...

I love Riles, but he's not exactly a player's coach and I wonder how LeEgo would mesh with him... If I remember right, Wade wasn't that big a fan either...

From my perspective the Celtics are the only team with all the necessary pieces to win a Championship right now.... They still have the player talent and experience, they have a proven system, and a superior coaching staff.

If they aren't derailed by injuries and make it to the play-offs, no matter what seed, I think they have the best chance to go all the way.

boozer/korver were on a better team in Utah and they still didn't beat LA, they're not going to beat the elites in the East, just cause Thib is a defensive guru dont meant jack, Mike Brown was a defensive coach and didn't know how to run an offense, specialist like Thib make for better assistant not Head Coach.

no way orlando beat the heat now, i think they will try hard for a trade on dead line, they can´t win with carter, they lost barnes...
celtics are one year older, lost tony allen, i dont see how boston will have the energy to guard lebronica and wade in a 7 game series, i think we are the only team that will have people on wade and bron all the time, ron, barnes, kobe, plus lamar and blake

I'm not counting on the Miami Spice Girls to get out of the Eastern Finals this year. Give them some time to hatch and harden sBosh Spice and the bench.

We just know how the process works... 17 championships to 1.

championships take defense and Miami looks sad on defense. Even the antique Celtics still know this.

You are a troll, you're flaming the laker board trying to be incredulous and start a flame war and your next warning will go to the commissioner. Understood?

Also you answered your own question... Bosh and Lebron

Bulls is a good point... your super dark horse is nearing black hole horse status, though, imo
