I love that he always has a towel with him to wipe his face off. He can't stop sweating.
On a serious note, he's very well spoken for someone who never went to college. Despite his DUI, he seems to be a smart guy which is something the Jazz must have focused on when they decided to take a chance on him. Should fit in well with our team.

I wouldn't be too worried about the DUI. Al seems like a really good guy.

So stoked on Jefferson. Can't wait to see him in action with a competitive Jazz team that we are growing.

Yeah, I'm not a thug or anything, but I've driven home after a night of drinking. I'm not going to say I'm proud of it, but it's something far more common than most people make it out to be. Now I don't know how over the limit he may have been, cause if you can't make decisions consciously out there, well that's just WRECKLESS (beyond what it is already).

Also I see people in Utah being fairly closed minded about situations such as DUI's. Like you said, its fairly common but in UTAH its a huge deal, people are just some what ignorant in this little sheltered bubble state.

You do see a lot of folks driving home from the bars. I think there is a difference between driving drunk and driving after a couple beers. Even if you do blow .08.
But, I understand it's a problem. And I support the harsh laws dealing with it. Folks should be more careful, people do get killed.
I don't have a big problem with Jefferson though. If he does it again, then yeah, I'll probably see it as a problem, but, if he got away with not hurting anyone and never did it again, I'll let it slide.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Yeah, one thing is .08, then another thing is straight drunk, don't know the percentage exactly, but people get caught above .2. I think .08 is not even a big deal, to me if I'm very tired I'm going to be more dangerous behind the wheel than with .08. Ofcourse we have to draw a limit, and not everybody has the same tolerance. What really bugs me though is, can't these guys use a damn cab, limo service, or have a chauffeur? If you are making millions, it shouldn't burn a hole in your pocket, and you avoid fines, suspensions, jail time, and worst killing someone or yourself.

AJ is human, just like everyone else on the planet and we all make mistakes, I still welcome him with open arms, especially after this interview I feel more comfortable with the fact that he is going to be a true blue jazzman.

Re: Al Jefferson interview video
I was crucified on this site last year for suggesting a Boozer for AL Jefferson trade but looks like you guys are starting to see it my way. Al Jefferson >>>>> Boozer as a person and a basketball player. Boozer was all about Boozer and the Bulls will learn that next year.
The Jazz are officially a championship contender!!! Lets start the season in August instead of waiting for October!!!

I'm getting more excited about AJ every day, but I'm still holding out to see how well he really does fit in with out system. I'm concerned with his defense still. I hope he is better than Boozer, but I'm not so sure that will be the case. You never know though, going from a terrible team to a very good team can really make a difference in how a guy plays. Hope it's for the better.

Great great pickup. You guys are going to love him. You probably haven't seen much of him because he has only been on lousy teams, but the ease of his low post moves and touch around the rim... only Duncan may be better at that in the league. Be prepared to be very surprised. Should be interesting how he plays on a good team with a great point guard.
