i think someone would need 25/10 or 18/13 to clearly beat him. both of those are ridiculously hard to average over a year. only 2 people have put up 25/10 and 1 person 18/13. Of course this assumes cp3 continues 20/10ish. like all the other young pgs, wall has a chance, but i doubt it. it would be cool if some of the young pgs put up some of those numbers tho.
also, i bet in the next 5-10 years you will see a pg led/team with top 3 pg win. since the hand check rules were changed more and more small and quick/strong pgs have shown up and flourished.
It's not all about the stat sheet...it's about other things as well, like defense and intangibles you bring to the team. Things that can't be measured. It's also about the impact you have on a team...how much you help them win.
I really think the Wizards are in good hands. Sure, it doesn't look good for them now, but I'm telling you I really think this kid is the real deal.

as long as CP3 and DWill are around
Wall and Rose won't be the best PG in the NBA.

I think a lot of people think this because they are too stuck in the "now." Sure, CP3 and Williams could be the 2 best PGs for the next 7-8 years, but I find that unlikely. There are young PGs now that are going to make a name for themselves and put themselves into the conversation. Rondo and Rose closed this gap this season on those 2.

Can we let him bounce an official NBA ball please in an NBA regulated game?
For all you know he can end up like Keyon Dooling

Well Rose obviously won't be. He's not a real PG. But Wall has a legit chance. His size and speed is phenomenal and he's a very smart player too.
I think he will be in the conversation for arguably being the best PG in the league by his 3rd season. Paul and Williams are his only real competition once he adjusts to the level of play in the NBA.

He wont get to the Nash DWill CP3 level cause he looks to score more than pass, even if the stats say other wise he is similar to Nelson when he came in the league (way more talented)
His celling if he can shoot is Gilbert Arenas (4 yrs ago) which isn't bad Arenas was a top 10 player a few yrs ago but never quality PG material

CP3 and DWill are still young too, is not like they aren't going to improve as well...

How is Rose not a real PG? Are you serious? You need to explain that one to me.

They'll definitely improve. But it's not like they are going to improve by leaps and bounds.
It's increasingly becoming more and more apparent that this is a PG league...it's easier now for PGs than ever before to become star players. The league caters to players like John Wall. I just don't see how he doesn't succeed. He has all the tools, and he appears to have the right attitude. As long as injuries don't hinder him, I like his chances to be in the conversation as the best PG after his first 3 seasons.

Don't talk about best PG in the league until he showed he can be the best in the East. He will have a challenge even being an Allstar starters in the East Conf competing with Wade, Rose, Rondo for the 2 Allstar Guard starter positions.

If he can get his turnovers down to under 4 i would be very surprised.

Doesn't look like he has Gilbert's lethal scoring ability, but he's a much better playmaker than Gil, more explosive, much more damaging in the open court and has a better head on his shoulders. Watch an interview with this guy and look at how confident (yet not arrogant) he is and how he presents himself infront of the media and public and you'll forget he's only a teenager. Definitely has the potential to be the best point guard in the league one day.

His first 2 or 3 seasons his turnovers are going to be very high. Hell, maybe they'll always be somewhat high. Sometimes I think he's too fast for his own good.

Derrick Rose is already an All-Star, ditto for Rondo, Deron and CP3. Talk to me when Wall does something in the NBA before we proclaim him the top PG.

Didn't you know? Rose is an undersized SG. He averages 6 assists, which sucks!!11!1

Because the ESPN boards are gay.

You act as if I'm calling him one of the best point guards right now. Several posters in this thread are acting as if I said that.
