Re: Pacers-Cavs-Sixers
Oh sweet, we trade away our only real value for more wings? Post our projected depth chart as a result of that trade. Oh yea, not to mention the lottery protected first. Might as well lock and delete this. I dont think you will find a single pacer fan who likes this.thaddeusyoungin wrote:Sixers out- Brand, Kapono, Green, Young, Smith, 2013 1st round pick (lottery protected), 2011 2nd round pick (top 40 protected)

Jamison is a 4, not a wing. Kapono is just a 3 point specialist and wont demand much playing time, maybe 15 minutes a game tops. You could cut Green or just bench him. He doesn't really deserve playing time and he's expiring anyway (so is Kapono). Really you have very little addition wing players. And you are getting a 1st round pick and Jamison who is a superior player to Murphy. You will still have more than max cap space next summer.
Depth chart
Ford (15) Stephenson (18) Price (15)
George (24) Rush (24)
Granger (36) Kapono (12)
Jamison (33) Hansbrough (15)
Hibbert (30) Foster (18)

Re: Pacers-Cavs-Sixers
Jamison is a superior player to Murphy? Ok ill give you that, but the dude is 34 years old, so hes only getting worse. He's not going to help rebounding-wise, he'd be replacing a guy who averaged a double-double. He's not a true 4, and our team needs a true 4 that can rebound, not a 4 that can score like a wing.
btw, the plan is to get players that are better than our expiring players, hence the value of an expiring contract. In this deal we give up the 2 of the 3 best players in the deal and get a 3 point specialist and a guy that we "could cut or just bench him". We give up our best rebounder and our backup C and get no1 to replace them. You realize no1 knows if Foster will play again, much less be effective even as a backup. Does that sound wrong to you?

Why would we want guys who doesn't really deserve playing time? What's the sense in acquiring these guys if we'll have no use of them?
Jamison is well past his prime, and he's not in the same tier as he was 3-5 years ago. So i don't think we can say that Jamison is still better than Murphy, who is much younger, and presently, more useful.
I'd rather keep both Dunleavy and Murphy til their contracts expire next year than have Jamison's two-years, and guys we probably not gonna use in Kapono and Green.
The first rounder isn't much of a factor, and Philly could be on the better half of the league in 2013, with Holiday and Turner in full bloom.
Indiana will have a better offseason next year if they decide to keep both Dunleavy and Murphy.
So i'd say no.

Not a very good idea, sorry.
