The last thing Cleveland needs to do is take on long term salary. I think they need to stick it out with Jamison until this year and dangle him in trade talks next season.

A completely rational strategy...which is why I expect Dan Gilbert to take on long term salary. :D

^ As if on queue, the Cavs trade West (non-guaranteed) and Telfair (expiring) for Ramon Sessons and his long-term deal. They also get a young big in Ryan Hollins and a second, but this exactly the kind of move that I see getting the Cavs in trouble down the road. Not this move alone, but 3 or 4 more moves like this and all of a sudden it's like they'll have another max deal on their books and only mediocre bench level players to show for it.

One more thing, sources say Cavs intend to make sure Daniel Gibson gets playing time next season. They may be done w/guard shopping.

Looks like Cleveland will be "all PG-sized scorers, all the time" next season.

I don't have any problems with this for Cleveland. Sessions may not be an all-star, but he can play, and he brings a different skill set than their other guards. His contract is quite reasonable, so if they ever decide to move him they will be able to. He's a viable backup point guard for a very good team.

Minnesota is going to waive Delonte. He may have a suspension coming and he comes with a ton of baggage, but don't you see a contender (Boston, LA, Orlando, etc) picking him up just to eff with Lebron? I love his game as a 3rd or 4th guard.

Would love to see someone roll out a Delonte/DeShawn backcourt vs. LeBron.

Stay classy, Cleveland.

Good thing they have all those great Metroparks.

Guy has a lot more confidence in the security guys at the stadium
than I would. Then again, I would not waste the $$$ on a Queenie
jersey just to rub it in their faces.

Prokhorov may well be classy, and Gilbert not, but this letter seems like a pretty transparent attempt to stay in the Queen's good graces so if he opts outs in a few years New Jersey will be seen in a positive light.

that's a little too conspiracy theory for my sensibilities, benji. i'm sure prokhorov's only negotiating tactic is the almighty euro. a max salary is one thing but the "perks" for working under this guy are off the charts. there's no limit to what MP can buy in his own name and let lebron use freely. yachts, planes, bugatis, clubs, ladies, monkey knife fights in international waters...

i'm sure once lebron gets his fill of rings his sights will turn to NJN soon enough.

When rotoworld updates something about the team(like a new coach or GM), it puts the best player on the team for that team update...siigh

Antawn Jamison-F-Cavaliers Aug. 26 - 12:45 pm et

According to league sources, the Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a new five-year contract with new GM Chris Grant.
Grant had three years left on a deal he had signed back in 2008, after he turned down the Atlanta Hawks GM job. So, basically, this is an extension with a pay raise. Grant will certainly have his job cut out for him in trying to lead the Cavaliers back to respectability after this summer's turn of events in Cleveland.

That would be awesome. LaQueen would be crying. 10:1 they take him out back after the game and make him their girl because that is what he is.
