LBJ Bike a thon

Post#1 » by the edge » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:47 pm

So I was just wondering if anybody was going to the bike a thon next week?

If I was in town I sure would show up and fly a flag that simply said quitter. And I did hear of a fan that is possibly hanging a banner downtown with home on it crossed out.

I saw someone mention not doing anything to make a scene, but in my opinion this could get ugly and the bum deserves it. Just wondered if anyone was going or planning anything.

If I had the cash, I would contact city council to donate the bikes myself, if they would put an end to it. Then next year for his token charity LBJ can donate 400 rafts for all the illegal aliens rolling up on the beach in north cuba.

Listen.

You have been on our board for no other reason in the past several weeks other than to incite arguments, criticize upset fans, and in general be a nuisance.

This is going to stop right now or you are not going to be allowed to post on this board at all. You can feel free to make EDUCATED posts all you want, but anything else will not be tolerated any more.

To the topic at hand. This isnt about charity. This is about LeBron showing everyone he is charitable. That isnt charity, that is self promotion.

Knowing how hurt Northeast Ohio still is, and knowing how serious we take sports, I think this is a VERY stupid decision by LeBron. I hope he fully understands how badly everyone hates him right now, and knows the risks before putting himself out in the open in public like that.

Don't make LeBron out to be a saint. This charity event is actually not profitable and the city of Akron is the one that is left to pay the tab. James basically only provides his "celebrity" to the event. As this event is not profitable, it would be a good thing if it went away.

Also, it has now been reported that all of the money from "the Decision" was not donated with James (& maybe ESPN) pocketing the remaining 4 million made from the special. It is just one more example of LBJ being built up and protected while in Cleveland.

I may be a Cavs fan, but I was disappointed in my fellow brethren for protecting LBJ for so long. Whether it was quitting on the court or protecting his indiscretions off the court, many Cavs fans enabled LBJ simply because they wanted something to believe in. We are finally seeing the real LBJ and I could not be happier that he is gone. This guy is a cancer.

With that said, he is Miamis problem now. I really hope the Cavs can put together a winning team the right way in the model of the Spurs.

He's not going to show up is he? I would hope community leaders made it clear this isn't a good time to show up at events in Ohio, even if it's for charity. My goodness, a fan couldn't even wear his jersey at an Indians game.

Well at least Mike Trivasonno never backed down. I will always respect his game on the court, but I was never a LeBron fan myself. He did many things that rubbed me the wrong way. You couldn't have a good discussion about it on any Cavs board when he was on the team because everyone would just accuse you of being a troll.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

He said he plans to be there. They cancelled the long ride and he will be riding only about a mile instead.

It would be yet another selfish and terrible decision for him to show up. I don't think he will.

Well consider people promise money for X amount of miles prior to the event, you could tar and feather LeBron and it will not alter the amount of money raised.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Rather than preparing for his bike a thon, he should be preparing for his rude awakening.

I really want to see lebron go to this. It would be awesome, he would finally realize how much people here hate him now and stop thinking that he is still the king.

Yeah, he's only riding a mile becasue thats all the city can provide security form since they have no cash and we know Lebron is not paying for anything. The Akron city council is a bunch of sell-outs and are only kising Lebrons Butt still so to get something from him. I have no respect for people like this and none for the idiots who think he still loves his Akron people. Ill bet you the percentage of Lebron haters in Akron is greater then the lovers, but yet City council thinks its ok to take his cash, and say he still loves his people! What a freaking joke when more than half of your city can longer stand the guy, way to represent your people and pocket the cash, Hey anything else from a politician would be a dissappointment.

What an ass, LBJ has followed in Z's footsteps and is taking out an ad loving on Akron! Sorry dude, not accepted.

Please, someone go sh*t on his self serving parade.

I'm sure Z didn't need anyone to give him the idea to take out that ad, and I bet LBJ dose'nt even know he took one out himself!
