E-Jack has had a tough year for us but i see him improving w/ CWS. A better bullpen and defense will help, also going to a real baseball team will motivate him.

Good deal for the Snakes imo. We now have 11 of the top 95 draft picks last year. Still hate the Haren deal.

The only problem is he's going from a good defense to a bad defense.

This is why stats sometimes lie. Anyone who's seen the D-Backs play know they're atrocious defensively and they have the worst bullpen in major league history (literally).

Or maybe your eyes lie and stats are objective.

Arizona is behind only the Nationals for most errors over the last 2 seasons. White Sox are an upgrade. Edwin will be fine.

Yes I do. The Diamondbacks' UZR this year is 25.7, 5th in the majors. The White Sox's UZR is -16.7, 22nd in the majors.

Alexei Ramirez and Juan Pierre are fantastic defenders for their positions, Beckham and Rios are about average and everyone else sucks. The only poor defender the D'Backs have that gets a significant amount of playing time is LaRoche.

Defense? Defense is overrated in baseball. Put a Prince Fielder in each position on the field and they'll probably make the playoffs.

How does Edwin Jackson get a better return than Dan Haren?

Age and upside? But that's all I can come with. Dan Haren is still fairly young and Top-20 pitcher in baseball.

LOL.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Haren had a no-trade clause and his first choice was the Angels... Philly, STL and Detroit were all offering better packages but Dipoto dealt him on loyalty rather than the best return which sucks for AZ. Haren is also having his worst year in the majors so his value was down.

Jackson is a solid rotation player but might be bit inconsistent i am afraid.
