Breakout Player This Year

Last year it was Finley. Who's your choice (if any) this year?

I think any one of the guys above could make their way onto the field have have some nice plays. I'd count on it from both Jones' and Nelson.

But I wonder if one of them takes hold of a position or plays so well that they force themselves onto the field.

Bishop may have the best chance. If Harris can't go Lee or Underwood will play a big role. Maybe Burnett is beaten out by Blackmon. He's not a natural SS but I could see them preferring his ball skills out there. I'm curious to see how Cyril looks out there, he's got as good a chance on this team as he does on any in the league.

I think Harrell will be solid...and that's it. Which would be great. I think he winds up being a solid rotational end.

My choice is Brad Jones. I'll go out on a limb and say he ends up having double digit sacks.

I think Harrell making it through the whole season without injury would be a break out or better a break through.

I still think Jordy Nelson could prove to be a solid no. 2 WR. If he gets his opportunities, I think he can have a break out season.

No Morgan Burnett?

If I had to pick from here, I'd go with Pat Lee since we are going to need him to play at some point.

I went with Harrell, which is probably more wishful thinking. I was one of the few people who liked the pick when he was drafted, so i'm still hoping he can stay healthy and show why TT drafted him.

I don't know if we can consider a rookie for a "breakout" year. From what I saw yesterday, and yes it was just one practice, I'm going with Blackmon. Yes Harrell actually practicing is a good thing, I just didn't see anyything from him at all other than he appeared out of shape.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Assuming Harrell stays healthy all year (I know HUGE assumption), I don't think we'll see that many big plays from him until later in the season. The dude hasn't played in a football game in, what, 3 years? It will take some time to shake off that amount of rust.

Underwood has as much raw physical skills as any corner on the roster and hopefully his offseason threeway gone wrong is a wake up call to bust his ass.

I am going with Jordy Nelson of the players you listed, I thought he would have had a break out type season last year if it wasn't for the injury, then having to be the punt/kick returner...he is big, quick, strong, and has good hands.

I may be alone, but I just don't think Bishop is that good, when he plays against legit players his lack of speed, intelligence, and weak instincts really show.

Yea, that's why I didn't include any on the list.

A couple guys who aren't on the list who I expect bigger things out of are Lang and Quinn Johnson. I'm not sure what the criteria is for the baseline of these guys, but if we're just talking about a guy making a big leap, my pick is Raji.

From this list, my wishful thinking picks are Underwood and Jones. Hard to know what to expect from Pat Lee.

I think Raji will have a great year this year, but if I had to pick someone from this list I'd say Brad Jones. He played well last year considering he was a 7th round rookie. I don't think he will be great by any means but I think he's going to improve his game.

I hope it's Brad Jones, there is a lot riding on him being a consistent pass rushing threat

It's a tough choice, the Packers have some serious talent.I could see any of these guys have a breakout type season if they get the opportunity.

I expect Raji to have a great season and if he does I really wouldn't consider it a breakout. You figure last year he was a rookie and hobbled all season.

If I had to pick one off the list I'd go with Brad Jones,I'm tempted to go with Pat Lee.

I can't pick Lee though cause that would make him my choice for breakout player two years in a row.

I went with Desmond Bishop for my answer. Hawk was solid but very unspectacular last year and it sounds like Bishop is knocking on the door so far http://packersnews.greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100801/PKR01/100801044/Notebook-Bishop-is-a-man-on-a-mission- .

From what I've read if it was up to Winston Moss Bishop would have been the starter last year and he greatly prefers Bishop over Hawk.

I like Bishop,I think he's a good solid player, but this will probably be what now? like the 3rd or 4th consecutive season that he's probably going to look like an all pro in august and then look average when the games start to count.

I'm not bashing him I think he's a good player but he's frustrating in that he always looks so good in pre-season,like a pro bowler about to breakout but then looks like just another ''solid'' player when the game start to count.

I went with Pat Lee... I think he is going to be a very solid player, and a lot of people underestimate what he can actually bring to the table. I would love it if Blackmon would do great this year too. I know a lot of people are worried about corner, and our lack of addressing it in the draft. I feel we still have some good young talent, they just have to stay healthy.

If I was going to make a second choice I think it would be B. Jackson. I loved how he played at the end of the year, and I feel really good about our line this year. If we can get some protection we can play with some screens again, and get Jackson really into this offense. Once he hits the open field he can really be dangerous. I would love to see some more of that this year, and I think we will.
