Miami Doesn't Deserve This

Post#1 » by AnotherFan21 » Sun Aug 1, 2010 1:33 am

Hello, I have been viewing this forum daily for about the past couple of months and have never posted a thread before. I’m from Detroit and usually spend a good portion of my days defending LeBron James from Pistons fans. I always enjoyed watching the Cavaliers play and have a tremendous amount of respect for the franchise but to be honest, I am a LeBron James fan before a Cavs fan. Before I leave this forum I just thought I’d share a my feelings with you guys. I had been following the LeBron James’ free agency craziness as close as anybody and became convinced he would stay in Cleveland when I read that he was doing a tv special. By some major coincidence, I happened to be in Miami for vacation with friends during the time in which he would make his decision. To mine and everybody else’s surprise, he decided to take his talents to South Beach as he so eloquently put it. My friends went crazy because it meant our vacation in Miami had just got better but I had bad taste in my mouth. I was kind of stunned and flabbergasted. I immediately thought of all the fans in Ohio that had put so much in stake on him and felt bad that they received the short end of the stick once again. Despite that, me and friends went out in South Beach and walked around to celebrate. To my amazement, after asking dozens of people on the streets if they were excited that they had just got LeBron James, many of them did not know who he was and did not care. The next day we went to the now infamous rally where the three were introduced. Let me tell you, the vibe in that arena was that of a club, you could tell people were celebrating just have a good time rather than to celebrate at their team has just catapulted into elite status. Here is my point, it became very clear to me that the city of Miami does not deserve three players of such magnitude. They do not seem follow their teams closely, do not attend games and only get involved when their team is winning. Furthermore, they do not share the same passion that you guys share for your team. Their forums are a joke in terms of the number of posts considering what has happened this offseason. So even though LeBron James has left and you will probably face several years of mediocrity before success remember this, it's that passion that you have for your teams that is why it hurts so much when you lose and is why it will feel so sweet when you finally do win a championship (heck your due for one any year now). So keep your heads and btw I’m a fan of his game not the way he conducts his life.

I understand that but you can tell a lot about a fan base when their team is struggling, not when they inherit LeBron James and Chris Bosh, any team with those two plus Wade would sell out immediately

I agree, quit making a big deal out of the miami fans selling out in a few hours, any team would with those 3 and if they didnt they would lose their nba team. Lets talk more about how there were empty seats all over the place last year, and how nobody goes to Marlin games even though they have won a world series. Now thats your true gage of miami fans. Now to be frank, Miami is not a sports town,it is a big freaking party town and for all you Heat fans, you better hope your big 3 dont live up to that latter part or you could have problems coming your way.

AnotherFan21....

your right Miami is indeed a Party City...
but we love the big event ..
MHeat are now a big event..

LBJ can actually go out to clubs without, being bother (not including the Groupies)

This is how sick the Groupies scene, is in Miami ...

We all know the Miami groupies are on some next level sh*t.

Will Savannah Brinson survive, or is this gonna be another Shaq & Shaunie situo?

It's sad ,but true these girls are cut-throat nasty...

Unfortunately, Savannah is done the only thing left to be decided is how long will she linger and how much is it going to cost LeBron.

Miami is one of, if not THE MOST, international city in America.

You asked 12 people on South Beach about LBJ? Buddy, I lived on the beach for most of my life and I will tell you, you probably asked someone from Puerto Rico, Columbia, Cuba, Italy, Nicauraga, Venezuela, Congo, and Dominica.

Who are YOU to say what a city deserves and does not deserve?

We deal with hurricanes, political unrest, and international conflict yearly, monthly, and daily.

My house is the second one from the top left.

We deserve everything we get. Just like every one else in this country who works hard to make a living for their family and to enjoy themselves by watching an NBA game or what have you.

Its a game. Its a SPORT. This is not life.

There are bigger things than this to put down a city over a damn basketball player.

Get over yourself.

To be honest, the hurricanes are one of the reasons that I don't understand why someone would want to live in Miami.

I fail to see why this belongs on the Cavs board.. However, this is how professional sports is. Whether a certain one is popular in a city or not, having a superstar will eventually draw more attention.. I understand that there are a lot of bandwagoners and loyalty is something we don't see very often nowadays, but the real fans are the ones who don't deserve this, not necessarily the city..

Those pictures of those skanks are exactly what will be Lebrons and his boys downfall. Savannah will not be around long but it will still cost Lebron big time. Lebron your only 25 you can still catch Shawn Kemp there is plenty of time to have about 13 more kids by 8 different women in Miami. And as for 8am, before a playoff game. Heck thats too early now, try like staying out until an a hour before the next game starts. Now we rolling miami style.

You guys don't understand why someone would want to live in MIAMI?????? That's like asking why would a rich man want to live in the Caribbean. Two reasons weather and females. No one cares about hurricanes.

We understand that Lebron took his talents to South Beach to party. Lebron can be just like Wade too who is being sued by his ex-wife for half of what he got for his party life style with the women. Lebron's girl friend, the mother of his two kids, just might be able to make that claim too soon enough.
Yes, Lebron has shown himself to be a fair weather front runner with great physical talent--- but without the mental toughness to dominate/lead in the playoffs.
