One option for everyone to think about is:

it took up 22 days to draft 21 players lastyear.
this year we are only drafting 15 each.

we could possibly push the draft until September 1st, and still have 20 days to complete the draft.

does this conflict or stimulate anyone?

Sept 1st works for me as well. It gives us a few days before Labour Day weekend, so we can get a few rounds done before anyone goes cottaging.

thanks to everyone for being so accommodating on this request
i know its a new date, one that looks like it works out the better for everyone, but nonetheless, thanks for the consideration, really didnt think it would sort itself out

im going to be leaving at about 5am this morning so is it safe to say the draft will be moved?

I've told Crep many many times to log in to baseball and he doesn't. I doubt he wants in the hockey league anymore so be prepared to add Errin I suppose.

I knew this was going to happen!
So I had Turco and held off waiting to see where he would go. Granted Chicago has .03 players left after the off-season dump, they still have a good defense core and now Turco in net. Gay in the way that is not acceptable.

hey guys.

ok so becasue the majority of you all agreed to move the draft to September 1st. i shall make it so.

done.

unfortunately, this move dosnt work for everyone, but majority ruled. some anonymous people might miss a turn becasue of a dance recital, and also a trip to the butterfly sanctuary. but thats how the cookie crumbles.

sorry guys. please leave lists with me to make sure you get your pick in on time.

second order of business, i have extended an invitation to Errin (joels brother) to participate in our league, hopefully he accepts, and submits his keepers within a reasonable time.

also, if there is anyone who would like to volunteer to start up a welcoming committee, that would be great. there is a budget for the committee to buy some (1 or 2) balloons or a cake in the shape of a hockey stick. could be fun.

Hey guys! Thanks for the invite, and I know you'll love having me around! I know almost nothing about hockey, but that won't stop me from doing my darndest to stay out of the basement of the league!

My keepers (taking over from Royce) are:

Forwards:
- Eric Staal (Car - C)

- Martin Havlat (Min - RW)

Defence:
- Mike Green (Was - D)

Goalie:
- Evgeni Nabokov (SJ - G)

Rookie:
- Nikita Filatov (Cls - LW)

Extra:
- Tomas Vokoun (Fla - G)

Also, if the above-mentioned welcoming committee is meant for me, I really like white cake with not so much icing, though I wouldn't be opposed to an envelope with cash in it...it'd save you the hassle of actually buying stuff!

Yeah...I just realized that. That's the last time I pick my players on the basis of attractiveness!

If I can, then, I'd like to move Vokoun to my goalie spot and add Marian Hossa (Chi - RW) as my extra player.
