Shaq may be good fit for Nuggs?
thoughts, comments?
i'd personally love this addition, i think he's not the same shaq, obviously, but nevertheless, the size and presence we definitely need.

I second this. We know what he can do with a fast pace team, Billups knows how to slow it down if we need to, he fixes the size issue times 2, he is a champ, he wants to beat Kobe, he probably has decent respect for Melo.
Maybe you could keep adding to that list.
It would have to be a structured signing though and some magic would have to be worked. Shaq would have to realize there is plenty of youth and energy on the team and what it needs most is that size and ability to play with that size that he brings. He doesn't have to be a superstar (20/20) for this team to succeed - just have its back when it's too small to battle.
I think Shaq's job would be EASIER here than it was in Cleveland, as he brings something no one on the team has and that's a sense of humor.

billups/lawson
afflalo/smith
melo/harrington
nene/kmart/harrington
shaq/andersen
that looks nice.
nene can go to pf and maybe stops being such a vagina under the basket with a weaker set of players to dunk on.

Wow, you list Shaq as a starter? Talk about a recipe for disaster.
Shaq won't be ab;e to run at altitude. He won't really be anything but a space filler when he does get down the court. Doubt his ego would allow him to be a 10 to 15 minute guy off the bench, which is the best I think he could offer in Denver without hurting the team. Even then, he wouldn't fit the team.
Shaq is done.

okayy..
i look at this in another perspective, if we don't do anything we can to keep melo, he's bolting.
if we get him at a good deal, why not? melo is this teams centerpiece and if he wants to play with shaq then who gives a **** what we think.
make melo happy is the only thing the front office is giving a **** about.
and how worse can we be without kmart and with shaq?

Re: Shaq may be good fit for Nuggs?
At first I was shaking my head to this article but thinking about it I wouldnt mind it at all for the right price. Shaq struggling with the thin air and the up-tempo offense is still more of a presense at the 5 then anybody thats available to sign. Also having Shaq in the starting line up means it moves Nene to the 4 which hes much more of a offensive presense. When he wants Shaq can still give you a solid 25 minutes a night.

Do you know how to disagree with someone without swearing?

Melo isn't stupid, he should know Shaq has no place on this team. He doesn't keep himself in shape anymore, he won't be able to run in Denver, he'll just clog the paint, and he wasn't exactly helpful to the Cavs last year. He is a year older now. He won't help the team.
If Melo actually wants Shaq, please provide a source, because right now, signing him won't get Melo to resign. I'd imagine it would make him less likely to, knowing it is a stupid move.

Most definitely he'd be a good fit. He fills the hole we've always had open and with him we"d have alot of different lineups to put on the court it would be had defending our team wether we go big or small with the recently added harrington at the 4 and nene at 5. His addition i think would bring a championship next year

I'd like Shaq only if he'd be willing to accept playing few minutes some nights and then play like 25 min in the playoffs... like Sheed for the Celtics

don't tell me how to speak buddy. i don't give a **** what some people that i don't know personally, that i can't see and speak face-to-face think of me.
how the hell am i supposed to provide a source, you're the one predicting the future and what it would be if shaq played in denver. OH HE'LL HAVE ALTITUDE PROBLEMS, HE'LL HAVE EGO PROBLEMS, HE WONT BE ABLE TO RUN, SHAQ IS DONE.
source those please, because he ran with phoenix quite well and while he didn't do **** in cleveland doesn't leave us with a lot of options for a contender spot.
you think if melo leaves, then the restructuring is going to take 1-2 years? it wont, and the front office knows that, even if it is having shaq at his age, WE DON'T HAVE A LOT OF **** OPTIONS. nobody is available if you haven't been following up on the news.
we were in the west finals a couple years back with a few changes in the lineup since then, if shaq can push us back there, then melo will think twice before deciding where he wants to go.
and i'm sorry if my grammar, punctuation, and use of words don't append with your standards, i feel at ease in a forum, not like i have to use a thesaurus to impress a bunch of sports guys.
what's your plan for keeping melo? praying?

can people please lay off my co**?
if you have a legitimate disagreement with regards to the nuggs or any sports we discuss here, i'll be glad to fight you on it.
i don't need lessons coming from daddy figures who have kids going through adolescence who also decide to preach their babble on the wrong website.
thanks.

Yes because signing a 38 yr old 325lb center whose played in this league 19 years is going to have anything to do with whether or not Carmelo stays.
As I said in the previous post Shaq would be a good signing because he is still more of a presense then 70% of the starting 5's in this league. But dont act like signing Shaq to a short term contract is going to have anything to do with Carmelos decision to sign a longterm deal.

hey, i'm just thinking of this like a last chance type of situation.
i lost hope in melo resigning, but if they make it as far as the west finals, i'll be happy.
it won't keep him here indefinitely, but it won't make it worse i think.

Have I commented on grammar or punctuation? No. I was just asking if you could disagree without swearing. It doesn't bother me at all, just a useful tip. If you want people to be willing to accept the argument you are making, doing it with maturity is the best way. You don't need a thesaurus to do that.
My plan? Well, I know it wouldn't involve signing a guy who'd make the team worse.

Whose on your cock? You present yourself in a certain way (swearing, insulting others), people respond to you differently.
Anyway, I have been posting legitimate disagreements. You just keep saying we need to keep Melo, blah blah blah. Without providing any actual information. If you want actual stats? Fine. Per 100 possessions, the Cavs scored 5.8 less points when Shaq was on the court and the defense was gave up 0.3 points more when Shaq was on the court. Meaning the Cavs were much worse on offense when Shaq was on the court and worse defensively. How adding Shaq to Denver, where he will be having to run more, will make the team better is beyond me.

honestly, people like you make me laugh, they have to go around acting like they're in charge when they have no authority.
you dead end job adults who choose to portray themselves like the tough authoritative anglers are one step above subway sandwich artists, you don't mean anything to me, and i'm done discussing with downers who act as arrogant and as stuck up as you.
you set a great example for anybody who wishes to not be you.
thanks sunshine.

p.s. did i ever say anything to you before that post, i never insulted, i never quoted you in any manner offending. you're just a brat adult who thinks he's **** on the net acting a webcop. fin.

How about BOTH of you stop the petty, childish bull and discuss the subject, rather than level insults at each other through cyberspace?
Jeezus, people.....whatever happened to mutual respect? Both of you are inciting the other. Grow the hell up.
My take is that Shaq would be a good fit for the right price. I think he brings us something we don't have for 15-20 minutes per game, and gives us a ton of options. I would love to see him on board.
Whether or not Melo resigns will come later. He hasn't signed yet cause he still wants to look at his options. I don't like it, but I certainly don't think Shaq/no Shaq is going to make a difference.
Let's just get along, shall we? PEACE.

Sorry kid, but I was merely giving you advice on how to win an argument. Giving advice, doesn't mean I think I have authority. It means I think I have knowledge that could help you out, and your response just proved me right. If you think trying to help you out is looking down on you, being a downer, or being arrogant, you got more serious problems than I thought. No worries, I know not to waste my time trying to offer friendly advice to you now.
So care to refute any of the actual facts about Shaq I brought up, or was your temper tantrum your way of trying to distract from the fact you can't respond to those facts?

That's what I was trying to explain to the kid. Not sure how doing that is petty and childish.
Shaq at 15 minutes might work? But he really hurt the Cavs when he was on the court, so I don't see him being a good pick up. Just the big name pick up.
