Brandon Rush

Post#1 » by KushIsMyCologne » Mon Aug 2, 2010 3:13 am

What would it take for the Bulls to get him in a hypothetical trade scenario. The Bulls are willing to trade their 1st rounder next year for Fernandez. I myself would prefer a guy like Rush. Not as high a ceiling, but not as low of a floor. Also, a better defender. Do you guys think the Pacers would accept a 1st rounder for him? Bulls would also be willing to trade James Johnson along with the 1st, I would think. Would something like that be acceptable or is Indiana not interested in moving him?

a 1st? Roster spot? Log-jam at the wings? We would consider it. We won't need Johnson unless Dunleavy gets traded.

I think I would rather just hold on to Rush. You know what you are going to get from him, excellent defense and three-point shooting. I'll take that instead of a late first round pick.

It's gonna be a late teen or early 20's pick. That is what Rush is about worth. We open up a roster spot, and poen up playin time for others. This is thr best deal you could get for Rush.

It's not popular, but I do agree with you. Next year Selby could potentially land in that 15-20 range, and I'd love to have another first just to get a crack at him.

I also want to add that I'd be okay accepting mid-to-late firsts for all of our expirings if a decent team considered that some of our expirings could put them in contention. Basically if a team like the Spurs felt they needed Troy Murphy in order to contend, he is worth more, so they will pay more

Draft picks are a cheap way to restock after the mass exodus.

When next summer begins will we be looking to add more young guys? Is it just me or do we have enough young pieces to move forward? Next summer will be the time to start adding proven pieces around our young core to make this team a real threat, IMO.

Only vets I like are Tony Parker and, if Carmelo leaves Denver, Chauncey Billups. We should draft a PG next season and sign a power forward or two. If we can trade Rush for Chicago's 1st and then trade CHI 1st, IND 1st and Hansbrough to move up in the draft to get your target player you do it. If Kyrie Irving or Brandon Knight are out of reach, Bird needs to package those 3 to get them. Maybe sign Mike Conley too? A core of

Irving/Knight
George
Granger
FA
Hibbert

would be good in the future and have some success immediately. 2nd round playoff maybe. Give Hansbrough one more season like we did Rush. If he doesn't show much improvement he should and needs to be traded for an upgrade at point.

Another Bulls fan here...

Yeah...I think we could do our 2011 first for Rush....
We are (on the board) tired of waiting on the Blazers and Rudy...
We (most of us) don't want broke-back T-Mac....
We (all of us) want an upgrade, or a least some someone who can shoot 3's at SG.
We (many of us) are OK if we end up with Roger Mason Jr...put would prefer someone with more upside.

If we do it I wouldn't mind. If we don't I wouldn't mind either.

Maybe we can swing Johnson to a third team and find us a different prospect with a similar ceiling. Honestly, I don't have any players that pop into my mind immediately. I'll think about it.

If our team is struggling around the deadline, than why wouldn't we move any of our expirings if it netted us draft picks? You'd prefer they walk away for nothing?

Since we'd only have about 10 players under contract it wouldn't hurt to pick up a couple of first rounders, and still maintain all of our cap-space to start adding proven pieces.

Something to consider when trading for a draft choice in next years draft. If there is a lock out, it will be a very shallow draft. To a college kid staring at being drafted and having no idea when play will resume, when your pay checks will start, wouldn't another year at college look a lot better? If that's the way this shakes out 2011 draft picks may not be worth squat.

These players want to get paid asap. Europe is suddenly looking like a better option than college if it comes down to it. Brandon Jennings already laid the blueprint, and others will follow, especially if there is a lockout.

Irregardless, if draft picks can be had, I want them.

Keep Rush. He may never turn into an all-star, but I think he'll be one of those 3fenders who just hit outside shots and D up. He also seems to like the city and is a model citizen. If his 3&D get better, he'll be a great role player for years to come.
